The Barnyard is ideally situated to explore the Cornish coast. Nestled in a quiet valley it is only a 30 minute walk to a sandy beach, ideal for surfing, water sports or cliff walks. Its central location means you are only minutes away from local attractions such as the Eden Project, Tate Gallery and Minack Theatre. Within easy reach are a number of National Trust retreats such as Godrevy Headland and the famous gardens. There is also an 18 hole golf course less than a mile away. Most of the cottages are 2 storey reverse accommodation and give unspoilt views of the private gardens. There is a private drive and the 3-acre grounds are secluded, ideal for picnics, barbecues and sunbathing. The small wooden play area is excellent for children to explore, and there is a games room with pool table, table football, wide screen TV, DVDs and videos.
The Barnyard was imaginatively converted from a traditional range of farm buildings which have been refurbished whilst retaining much of their rustic character, with exposed beams and natural pine doors and stairs. The owners have taken great care to provide a very good standards of comfort, and the kitchens and bathrooms are well-appointed. Shop and pub within 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room with 2 double sofa beds (for alternative sleeping)/dining room/kitchen. Utility room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

High chair. Washing machine. Dishwasher.

All properties: NSH, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot (except property ref 2996). Freeview TV. Video. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared laundry with washing machines and tumble dryer. Freezer. Wi-fi. Private patio with sitting-out area and furniture. Shared 3-acre enclosed gardens with wooden play area for small children. Gas barbecue on request. Ample parking. Shared games room with pool table, table football, wide screen TV, DVDs and videos. No smoking.

    A lot of the equipment in the property had seen better days. The sofa could do with replacing and was shabby, more kitchen utensils were needed eg cutlery and the bathroom needed updating. A rusty towel rack is not where you want to place your towels. A main light bulb in one of the bedrooms was missing and it could have been better hovered. It was not good value for money, although the location was good.

    Have never stayed in such an ill-managed property with so many faults. After arrival the following faults were reported and were dealt with during our stay: • the TV remote control was broken • the extractor fan in the bathroom was not working.    • The dishwasher didn't work and emitted a burning smell • no teapot, • only one wineglass, • only 3 bowls/dessert dishes, • no cheese grater, • no cutting board, • no kitchen scissors • only 2 dessert spoons. • a broken bulb in the cooker hood • The controls on the cooker hob had all the markings missing • The shaver light fitting was broken • towel holders in  kitchen were broken The following items were also reported and not dealt with: • wall mounted spotlight above the sink had no bulb and the fitting was hanging by the wire.   • no bulb in the  main light in the bedroom with 2 single beds and no bedside lights. Other points during our stay: • No safety test certificates on the electrical appliances as far  we could see, •    No visitor book, •    No list of emergency numbers,   •    Externally the property looked rather tired and the weeds in the gravel needed clearing, •    The arms of the easy chair and settee were worn,
