We really enjoyed our stay loved the old cottage with the bare walls and burner great character. Did not need to go out of the village it had it all i.e. 3 pubs shops butchers and a cafe /restaurant which do a fabulous roast dinner .

It as a nice cottage, very cosy but it could have been a bit cleaner, cobwebs and accumulated dust in places (curtain at top of the stairs and bedroom) and the bathroom wasn't as clean as you might expect. The bed could do with a new mattress and pillows and perhaps a new sofa downstairs. The local information was good and the games they'd left for the visitors. The location was good and we had a lovely evening in the plough with really good food. Its a good central location for some of the attractions in the area and it really is quite a beautiful area. I know the kitchen is very small but the design could perhaps be re-thought using some of the newer space saving appliances on the market today. Some of the crockery was dirty and we had to wash it before using it. The log burner was perfect. The garden was quite neglected unfortunately which stopped us using it. Sorry if this sounds negative, we did have a lovely stay but when you stop to look at it you cant help but think it could be better, maybe interior wise more in keeping with the house and date of the house. The paint colours went well I think. Overall it is a lovely cosy cottage, but maybe just needs a few tweaks here and there. Kind regards

We had a good time here. Yes there were a few small issues (we had to clean shower drain out because it was blocked with hair, the tourist leaflets were very out of date, there were no matches, fire lighters or kindling and the front garden needs a tidy up). However we've stayed in far, far worse places. The car parking is so convenient, the cafe was super, the fish and chip shop brilliant, the pubs were good and the shops really convenient.
