Description

After a busy day exploring Wiltshire and its attractions, relax in the shared hot tub whilst watching the starry skies.

These two barn conversions, semi-detached Henge (ref UKC2155) and terraced Otis Tarda (ref UKC2156), are set within the owners’ grounds, tucked away down a quiet lane. They have great rural views, but are only 6 miles from the bustling market town of Devizes. Both boast a shared hot tub to sit in whilst gazing at the stars.
Ideally located in the heart of Wiltshire, the properties lie very close to the Kennet and Avon Canal, where you can enjoy walking and cycling along the towpath, stopping off to enjoying the various tea rooms and pubs along the way. The Wessex Ridgeway trail also passes by within 1 mile of the property. The cities of Bath and Salisbury are within a ½-hour drive, as are Stonehenge and the picturesque villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. Shop, pub and restaurant 800 yards.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les and Janice's cottage. They both made us feel so welcome and the cottage felt like home from home. We were even welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and pack of cheese(!), alongside bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. They were so nice when we needed help to work the underfloor heating system - we rang their bell and they were more than happy to come over and show us, even though it was the evening. The cottage is so lovely, kept exceptionally clean and felt very cosy, even during a bad storm during our second night's stay. Although there are 2 other cottages next door, they are very sound proof and you still feel like you're in your own private location. Les and Janice have thought of everything, even down to a large jacuzzi hot tub and a room with a washing machine, board games and table football for evenings or bad weather days. There is a Co-op and pub near by and it was only a very short car ride into Devizes itself, which is a fantastic town! There was so much to do in Devizes that we ended up spending a day and a half there. We particularly enjoyed walking down the Caen Hill Locks, seeing the Wadworth Brewery shire horses on their beer delivery and walking round the Thursday market. There are also some lovely cafes there to watch the world go by. Devizes is also a great town to be in if you like very old buildings, because there are a lot of original tudor buildings (the old 15th century hat shop off St. John's street is a must see). We would definitely recommend this cottage. Les and Janice were so welcoming and friendly (without being intrusive - they also give you your space), and their cottages and facilities are of a very high quality. We also feel that it was very good value for money, especially as our dog was allowed to stay with us for free! And their rescue dog, Clover, is beautiful! Highly recommended!

Great mini break for me and my daughter and two little dogs! Lots to see and do in the area. The owners were very friendly and helpful. And hot tub was a great bonus.
