Ideal for exploring Exmoor

Situated on the edge of Exmoor, Bramble (ref 27386) and Hawthorn (ref 27385) are two delightful, well-appointed barn conversions offering comfortable holiday accommodation for those visiting this stunning and varied part of North Devon. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the properties are well furnished and provide all modern conveniences to ensure a relaxing holiday. With open-plan living areas and some of the bedrooms having en-suite facilities, the cottages cater for both families or friends sharing. Guests can walk from the cottages up onto Exmoor to sample the rugged delights this area has to offer. Exmoor has also been appointed as a Dark Sky area, ideal for those wanting to study the sky at night. The cottages are located a short distance from the Victorian coastal towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. These delightful towns have a good range of amenities as well as restaurants and the famous cliff railway. There are numerous attractions within easy reach of the cottages including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer including the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. A day out into west Somerset is recommended with such places as Porlock Weir, Dunster with its castle (NT) and the seaside town of Minehead, home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. There are NT properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Great Torrington. Shop 1/2 mile, pub 11/2 miles.

Very disappointed with the location - no phone signal or wifi- minimum and basic equipment and utensils in the house. No welcome pack not even a teabag! Best aspect were the very comfortable and clean beds.

Cottage was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is situated in a very quiet location so wouldn't suit everyone. Is ideal for a family holiday with pet dogs. owner was on hand if anything was needed but didn't intrude. Would definitely stay there again. Excellent cottage. Couldn't fault it.

directions are not clear, email says 500 yards up road, turned out to be 1/2 mile, and the building needs a sign saying its the holiday home, bedrooms looked out into yard which was a mess and full of rubble... needs wifi or better TV rather than a old sky box which you spend ages flicking though unavailable channels trying to find the free to watch . heating needs to be on 24/7 rather than a timed system.. adjusting the thermostats did nothing, dishwasher needs new labels to say what buttons do what. on a side note could do with 2 keys so a party can split up and go out separately rather than trying to juggle when to come back

We had a lovely week at the cottage - it's in a beautiful quiet location, and close to lots of amazing places to visit. We were made very welcome, and the cottage itself was very well equipped and furnished. The beds were very comfortable - normally have a couple of restless nights at the beginning but not here. All the bathrooms/en suites were very clean and in good working order. Loved the under floor heating in our cosy bedrooms downstairs. We'd definitely go back again another time.
