Nicely appointed house. Two good pubs (food + drink) within walking distance. Convenient for Ashbourne, which has lots of nice shops and cafes.

More of a house than a cottage! Very well kept and very clean. Beds comfy. Kitchen equipment a little crammed with many multiples. Great fridge and freezer space. We had a food fridge and an alcohol fridge! Dining room a great space to play board games. Creaky floorboards upstairs meant it was impossible to tiptoe around at night without disturbing anyone. Great location being so close to Ashbourne. We found the sofas in the lounge very comfortable although a little antisocial as they were placed in a line but I don't know how they could have been arranged differently. Overall a great cottage though.

Great location, great cottage. Easy walk into Ashbourne, pub over the road is well worth a visit, really good food. Loads to do in the area.

Lovely house, warm, comfortable and very well equipped (it lacked nothing!) and with a nice large enclosed garden, (although a large energetic dog could, if left unattended, jump the wall and get on to the road). We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and certainly enjoyed staying there.

Nice relaxing weekend. The property itself is looking rather tired & there was a few dead spiders around (such as one underneath the TV Unit). The oven & the hall light both didn't work during our stay. Little disappointed these weren't checked before each guest. However good layout for families/friends & the garden is very large which my dog loved. Only thing to bear in mind is one of the walls is quite low so if you have an inquisitive Labrador-size dog they could easily scale it!

Holme View is a comfortable, spacious and well equipped house. The large garden would be a bonus if children were in the party. The off street parking was another big plus point. For exploring the Peak District the location couldn't be bettered, everything seemed to be about 30 minutes drive away. There are three pub/restaurants within easy walking distance and Ashbourne is only a 20 minute walk. We would highly recommend a stay here.

A great find. Area lovely with plenty of walking, including the local pub The Royal Oak, v good food, although coming from Oxford where we are used to places open constantly, needed to plan a bit for eating times etc. Would definitely come again and the house had plenty of room, all beds comfy and loads of hot water.
