Holly House sits in a very peaceful neighbourhood with which we felt very much at home. The house has plenty of room and was very clean, with ample room to park the car on its own drive. There is a nice secluded garden to the rear of the house, which is totally inaccessible from the front/side, thereby making it really safe for children. The only comment I would make here is that there are two very large steps down to it from the conservatory. The house was very comfortable throughout, although the beds could be considered as being a little on the low side. Home entertainment systems were well provided for and there was also a nice welcome pack, which included a refreshing bottle of wine. As we are likely to have need of visiting this area of Kent more than two or three times a year, we would have no hesitation in booking Holly House if it is available.

A lovely, well equipped house which felt more like a home than a holiday let. The sea front is a 10 minute brisk walk away or an easy drive and there is ample free parking. Margate itself has clearly seen better days but with its lido and Art Deco styling one can imagine how splendid it once was. A mile or so from the cottage is Botany Bay, a hidden gem and a real treasure. There are many parks in the area and a couple of miles of dog friendly sandy beach at low tide. The Viking Coastal path is nearby, which is wide and well surfaced making it ideal for both walkers and cyclists alike.
