This delightful holiday cottage adjoins the owners’ Grade II listed, 18th Century farm house. The original features have been combined with modern fittings to create a comfortable holiday home. Situated within a village it has direct access to Hadrian’s Wall and the coastal cycle route (72). It lies 3 miles west of Carlisle and is a short drive to the Scottish Border, Lake District, Northumberland’s National Park and is close to the Solway Firth. An excellent base for those wishing to explore this area. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Ground floor: Living room with beams and sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only). Dining room/kitchen with beams. Shower room with toilet. Narrow stairs to first floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite toilet.

Multi-fuel burner in living room included. Oil central heating included (£15per week November-March). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. DVD.     Beautiful cottage, very well equipped and spotless. Owners very helpful and the cream tea on arrival a really nice touch and very welcome. Would highly recommend and stay again.

    Quiet location, ideal for visiting Solway coast, Scotland and northern lakes, with easy access from the M6, very quiet motoring and cycling along the roads to the west/south of the cottage. Ideal if you enjoy bird watching, particularly in oct- march on the Solway estuary. Very clean cottage and ample space for 2 people.

    A well very equipped cottage which does expect self caterer's to cook! Warm and comfortable - plenty of room for two and a dog. Owners welcoming, helpful and interested in our explorations of the area. It is a good base for discovering both the south and north Solway Firth coasts, the various wildlife reserves and mosses, for walking Hadrian's Wall and the lovely Eden valley.
