This is a great base for a couple or small family wishing to discover the Cotswolds towns and villages, with lovely scenery all around.

This stone built cottage has been renovated to a luxurious standard and is situated within The Bartons just 6 miles from Chipping Norton. This beautiful holiday cottage is tucked away down a pretty lane which leads to a ford at the end. The owners live close to this charming cottage which has lots of character, and is perfect for all year round holidays. The living room has French windows and window seats so you can enjoy overlooking the garden after a day’s exploring. The kitchen is equipped with most appliances and is tastefully furnished to a very good standard. The first floor landing has French doors opening to a balcony with steps leading down to the garden, all adding to its charm and character.

There is a wealth of country walks on your doorstep and many pretty, typically English towns and villages in the Cotswolds to explore. Within a short driving distance is Chipping Norton, Woodstock with Blenheim Palace, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold. A little further is Shakespeare’s town of Stratford-upon-Avon with its theatre, great restaurants and shops. Other leisure activities in the area include golf and the theatre and museums in Oxford. Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile and restaurant 2 miles.

My sister and I had an amazing three night break at the cottage with my dog. From the very beginning the cottage was superb from the decor to the quality of the kitchen. We had a relaxing and enjoyable break and would love to go back, the only thing for us that was not good were the beds. Far too soft to the point we slept on the floor the second night. If you like a firm bed this is not great. Everything else is 100% perfect and we are sad that for the issues of the beds its the only reason we wont be booking another weekend break. If you like a soft bed then this is the cottage for you, its beautiful.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Dear Helen, I am delighted to hear that you were happy with your stay, but sad that you did not mention you had a problem with the beds. It would have been a pleasure to remove the soft mattress toppers - the mattresses beneath are recently-purchased, well reviewed and other people have made special mention of their comfort. I don't like to think of you sleeping on the floor- though its lucky we also have clean, soft carpets! Thank you for your kind review as we aim to please. Best Wishes

Wonderful cottage, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The location was fabulous for visiting so many places - Oxford, Warwickshire and Cotswolds all within an easy drive. The only complaint from my son was it wasn't cold enough to light the woodburner!

We've had a lovely holiday at Holliers Cottage. The property was immaculately clean (not always the case with holiday cottages) and well provisioned. It is an interesting, quirky, building, though very spacious for two. The owners live next door and were friendly and helpful with enquiries. Cooker, microwave, TV/DVD, broadband and shower all easy to use (we didn't use wood burner). Bed extremely comfortable. The owners had left a welcome pack including tea, coffee, milk, bread and eggs, as well as lovely home made brownies. There was an abundance of towels, toilet paper, cleaning products and so on. All very thoughtful. We were blessed with exceptional weather. We were able to sit in the garden on return from days out with a glass of wine and watching the red kites soar overhead. Bliss. The biggest drawback was the off-road parking. There is a sharp change in gradient on the drive. If your car has low bumpers or spoilers (like mine, which is only a standard estate) it will ground on the drive. We parked on road about 50 metres away.

Enjoyed a peaceful week at Holliers Cottage, ideal for couples and very dog friendly with walks on the doorstep and lovely enclosed garden suitable for a small dog. Provided with excellent welcome pack and cottage well equipped. We would definitely consider booking Holliers again.

Lovely place, very tranquil and very well maintained. Only scored equipment a 9 because we ran out of toilet paper, but that was literally the only thing. Excellent.
