Nice clean bungalow with a nice pub opposite but no shop. Easy to get to many places of interest from here.

Hillview is ideally situated between Bridport and Beaminster and is an ideal base for exploring the area. Only slight downside, mobile phone signal very poor if this is required.

Lovely time was had my all. Great cottage with good size rooms and all the thing you need for a comfortable holiday. Both dogs loved the garden and we felt really safe for them to wonder round. Friendly next door neighbour. Great pub with really good food within walking distance to us an added advantage.

A nice bungalow very comfortable and well kitted out. Pity the grass wasn't cut a bit more often as it was really long and never dried out. Also the hot water was a bit of a problem and we had to ensure we didn't use too much in the evening or there was no hot water in the morning.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: The property has been continually booked from March to October, which is excellent. But if the weather is bad on the Saturday change over, the grass cannot be cut. It has rained a lot this summer. The lawn was cut before this guest started their 14 day booking. I do not like to intrude on their privacy, when they are in the property. I texted them at the beginning of their 2nd week, asking when it would be convenient to mow the lawn. We agreed on Wed. when I duly did it. I was at the property when they returned from their day out but they did not mention any trouble with the water. I have extended the timer on the water heater giving a longer heating time. Perhaps there had been a power cut during the thunder storms, which put the clock out of sequence. In the Guest information book I state that if guests have a problem to notify my caretaker or myself immediately so we can rectify the problem at the time, as I am unable to do anything afterwards.

Very nice cottage but lacks a spin dryer. We had a battle with the washing machine but we won in the end! We had a good holiday and enjoyed the cottage facilities.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. It is most unfortunate that you had a battle with the washing machine! The appliance is fairly new and instructions for use, along with all other instructions for the electrical appliances in the property, are included in the Welcome Pack. I was advised to purchase that model of washing machine because of its spin. I have never received complaints before. The property does not advertise a spin dryer, however there is a long washing line in the garden, with pegs and also a clothes horse provided. It was great to hear that you enjoyed the Cottage facilities and overall had a good holiday… We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Spent a week in April here with our two dogs. It's an ideal place for dogs with a large enclosed garden at the front , and many public footpaths just outside the house. The house has a lovely kitchen and conservatory , and great views across the hills. There is a pub across the road and some good supermarkets five minutes drive away. Spent alot of time on the beach at West Bay which is within fifteen minutes drive. The house has great sofas and large bedrooms , and a great bath. Could not have been cleaner and was very quite, would defintely go back.

Bungalow was one of the best we have stayed in. The reason for the '8' mark for 'overall' and 'comfort' was it was cold but this was due to it being early in the season and the place not having had time to warm up. However, the extra heaters provided meant we were able to keep reasonably warm through the evenings - the days being mostly sunny, when in, we were in the lovely conservatory.

Lovely quiet cottage in perfect setting for exploring West Dorset. Less than 10mins drive to Bridport and surrounded by beautiful countryside ideal for walking & discovering the Jurassic coast. An excellent pub is literally just across the road & we thought the food was very good at competitive prices - very well kept ales too! The cottage is immaculately clean & tidy with everything you need including a dishwasher. The owner kindly left us milk in the fridge plus teabags & biscuits too. Plenty of parking on the driveway & the garden is fenced & gated - so no problem for most dogs.
