We took my Mum away for her 80th birthday so needed somewhere to cater for a family with age range from 5 months to 80! We had a lovely time, there was plenty of room for us all & plenty of bathrooms. The owners left us a lovely welcome pack which even included an 80th birthday card which was so thoughtful. The views were amazing & the only drawback in January is getting up the lane to the house. We loved it & would recommend Hillside House to anyone wanting a break away from it all.

Well equipped spacious house, good for our 3 generations meeting up on holiday but there are 2 issues we feel were not accurately portrayed in the description. The views and location are magnificent: the downside is the rough steep road access, not for the faint hearted driver. The garden is not suitable for young children as it is bordered by nettles and brambles which obscure an unfenced steep drop.

Fantastic view, cakes on arrival, and Ray was welcoming and very helpful - excellent! Rooms well planned for families, though the garden is not suitable for young children, but there is a playground near. The track up to the house could be a bit of a motoring challenge! There are lots of good places to visit, and we had a very good holiday. Thanks Ray!

The house is lovely and large everything you need for a family get together very well equipped. Lovely welcome gifts of croissants, milk, coffee, cava, sugar ect.great walks from the garden in the woods we all slept well comfortable beds .the only thing I would mention is the track up to the house is very bumpy and muddy more of a dirt track in the woods rather than a road so if you have a low car I don't think you would get up there to the house but over all of you can get past this it was a lovely house and great holiday

The cottage was immaculate when we arrived and wonderfully spacious for our party of 10. The view across the estuary was a wonderful addition to evening drinks on the terrace. As half of us had to head away for a graduation for a couple of days, we didn't get to fully explore the area so I would definitely love make a return visit. I think this makes a great base for exploring the area especially due to the good road network.
