Wonderfully spacious house with breathtaking views of Bristol. We stayed there with our young children plus another family and their children and we all thought the house was a great find. Plus the two lounges meant we could have a 'kids' room and a more peaceful adult lounge! We will definitely be booking again.

Lovely cottage, great local info provided by the owner, fantastic food at the Dundry Arms which is just around the corner, and the views are beautiful by day and just as lovely by night as the lights from town look like stars! Would recommend staying here

We had a lovely weekend away at this cottage which completely exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect with a breathtaking view of the valley at night and a quaint pub round the corner. The cottage is spacious and easily sleeps 8. The kitchen and living room are both large, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Chris was easy to reach and happy to help us with any queries, kindly allowing us to stay later on our final day. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to escape city life.

No hot water to ensuite or kitchen sink. No locks on bathroom doors. Bed very uncomfortable Needs a good clean and is a bit dated inside.but could be really nice if done to a better standard

We stayed at Hillside Cottage in order to attend my son's wedding in Bristol. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped throughout. Its layout suited our extended family and enabled us to host a family party the night before the wedding. Although situated on the main road through Dundry, the thickness of the walls means that the majority of the bedrooms and bathrooms (at road level) are protected from traffic noise. The living rooms and kitchen are on a level below that of the road and overlook the lawned terrace and a small shrubbery, which gives privacy and shelter, without stopping the fantastic views. The terrace is great for a barbecue or for just sitting out, relaxing. The 'drop' mentioned in the cottage description was not too much of an issue for our two-year old but the inadequate garden gate in one direction and steep steps in the other, both allowing direct access to a busy road, could have been. We were in the area for a specific purpose and so Dundry was fine for us but the village itself is very remote and offers few facilities- a church closed for roof repair, a pub closed on Monday and Tuesday, plus no shop and no pavements, making walking on the narrow roads very hazardous.
