We had a great stay, very comfortable, lovely location and views, lots to do locally. Would certainly recommend - in fact, we already have.

Comfortable, cosy and excellent view across the Coquet valley. It might be worth advising people about the rutted track, and the bathroom isn't up to the standard of the rest of the cottage.

A perfect place to spend a week. Hill Top Cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners go that extra mile and supply a superb welcome pack and also contact you before your stay to answer any questions you may have and supply info on the cottage and the area. Once at the cottage there are numerous books and info packs on the local area that you can soon fill a week and more! Rothbury which is a couple of miles away has an assortment of shops to purchase supplies, a Post Office, banks, cash point, cafes and gift shops. There are also a number of pubs in the area all doing food it you don't want to cook!

A lovely welcome pack greeted us as we arrived at Hill Top Cottage. Local ammenities were limited but Rothbury 5 minutes down the road had a Co-op and some lovely individual shops as well as Cragside a few minutes further down the road. The cottage was ideally situated for visiting the best of Northumberland. In fact, there was far more to see than the week we had there would allow. Countryside, beaches, castles and wildlife. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to thank the cottage owner personally when we met her in Alnwick. Certainly would be more than happy to stay here again as there is still a lot more of Northumberland for us to discover.

One of the most relaxed short breaks I've ever had will definitely be returning , it felt like home . The owners go out of there way to provide essentials for your arrival: milk , bread, butter , crisps , chocolate , wine , shampoo & conditioner , shower gel and my most favourite was the supply of bubble bath just what u need after a day out walking . The list is endless was still finding hidden treasures as we were leaving !! Would definitely recommend this cottage xx
