A lovely cottage with every thing you need for a relaxing stay. A very quiet location which was much needed on the wind up to a wedding at the very close Clearwell Castle. We would definitely stay again as the cottage is within driving distance of local towns, Coleford, Monmouth, Ross on Wye. The cottage has everything you could want for both hot days or cold days, conservatory, lovely garden with bbq, log burner. It has two bathrooms, one of them an ensuite shower room as well as a downstairs toilet. The wahing machine and dishwasher was very welcomed for a week long stay. The communications with the owners were clear and precise. The welcome pack provided was extremely pleasing and very welcomed, thankyou. I have already recommended the cottage to others.

The cottage is ideally situated in the centre of the village with lots of lovely walks around. But I think the property is unsuitable for four adults. The mattresses on the single beds need up dating and the lounge furniture should be much more comfortable. However my first disappointment was that I had to clean the oven shelves and baking tins before I could use them ,one was rusty! Not a very good start to a holiday.

Highlands is a lovely cottage and a great base to explore the Forest Of Dean and the Wye Valley. The property is spacious, comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. The garden is secure for dogs. Clearwell is a small village with 2 pubs. The Butcher's Arms serves food but for people with dogs they can only use the bar area which is small. The Lamb serves excellent beer straight from the barrel and is open Friday to Sunday. Coleford is only 10 minutes by car where you can buy most of what you need for a holiday.

Well equipped, clean and cosy with log burner, logs inc a bonus. Hard floor in conservatory ideal for boots and dog paws after a walk in the forest. Great location would highly recommend.

Fantastic cottage, in a great setting. All it really lacked was a close, local shop, but such is the case with so much of rural England, these days.

Generally nice cottage. Fairly basic but clean and user-friendly. Was nice to be able to take dog with no fussy rules or extra costs. No phone signal in village, though WiFi was fine. Only gripe: only a thick duck-down duvet available - in August! Had to take off cover and use it as a sheet with the one spare blanket in main bedroom. Please, please, offer an alternative for hot summer nights! Bottle of wine, bread etc appreciated.

Very comfortable and clean, plenty of cutlery and dishes. The downstairs toilet was a good addition as the stairs were quite steep. It was quite easy to use the key safe and convienient as you did not have to wait for somebody to be there to open up. It also meant that it did not matter if you were arriving late afternoon as we did. It would be helpful if the directions were given for each end of the village as when we arrived the instructions were from the wrong direction.
