Apple Tree Cottage accommodates four guests and is great for families or couples alike. Enjoy a lovely walk to Smuggler’s Cove.

These superb converted barns are set on a 50-acre farm in a lush, green valley, with stunning views out over Lyme Bay. An area of breathtaking beauty, walk to the top field and look out over Exmouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth and the tors of Dartmoor. Or wander along private lanes to public footpaths which lead to Smugglers Cove, Teignmouth and beyond. Within 2 miles you can play golf on an 18-hole course, swim in an open-air pool, enjoy sea fishing and relax on a sandy beach. There is riding and coarse fishing 5 miles away, and at Dawlish Warren, 5½ miles, there is a 500-acre natural bird sanctuary, where you can see thousands of birds on land and overhead; the farm itself is also home to many different species, including the nationally rare cirl bunting. Within a 10-mile radius there are two racecourses, picturesque villages and fishing harbours, sandy coves and the high moorlands of Dartmoor. The Roman city of Exeter is approximately 15 miles, whilst bustling Torbay (9 miles), which encompasses Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, has theatres, a yachting marina and a selection of fine gardens to visit; in addition to Kent’s Cavern, where the remains of some of Britain’s very earliest inhabitants (dating back approximately 25,000 years) were found. Here you’ll find castles, abbeys, wildlife parks, steam trains and model railways all within easy reach, with many open throughout the year. Newton Abbot’s attractions include Bradley Manor, a 15th-century manor house set in 70-acre woodlands and meadows, the Gorse Blossom Miniature Railway and Woodland Park, and a Hedgehog Hospital at Prickley Ball Farm. Shop ½ mile, pub ¾ mile.

Perfect location for a quiet holiday for those who enjoy walking in the countryside and appreciate the magnificient views from the cottage windows. It was a very comfortable cottage plenty of space to move around ....fantastic shower in the bathroom , and I hate showers ! Wifi was not always available...but maybe that was a plus .

Although there had been a mix up regarding the accommodation upon our arrival, a suitable alternative was quickly arranged, which was to our complete satisfaction.

This was the perfect location for us as we were visiting friends who lived just round the corner. However, with a toddler the steep hills in and out of the farm meant it was impossible to walk, so had to use the car. But the stunning views made this worthwhile! It was lovely to have full rights to wander round the whole farm and my 2 year old loved seeing the sheep and picking blackberries! The cottage was comfy, clean and equipment for cooking was good. We will stay again when we visit our friends another time as it was ideal.

It was a great holiday and we both enjoyed it a lot. The only problem we had was that the walk in shower was very slippy when wet and soapy which was really rather dangerous. However, that was easily cured with a £4 bath mat from the local store. I brought this to the attention of the owner and he had been wondering if that would be a problem; this was an easy one to cure, rubber suction bath mat. It really is a problem mostly for us as my sister is disabled. This really didn't detract from the holiday which was wonderful :-)
