A truly wonderful farmhouse set in 17 acres with spectacular views from the hot tub towards the sea!

High Lowscales Farm is a traditional Cumbrian hill farm situated in the south-western Lakes, between the beautiful countryside of the Whicham and Duddon Valleys. This detached, Georgian farmhouse is set in 17 acres and has spectacular views down to the Irish Sea and the Duddon Estuary. Public footpaths cross the farmland, and next door lies Millom Park, perfect for woodland walks. The farm’s driveway is also a bridleway, ideal for mountain biking in the Whicham Valley and up the 600m high Black Combe. The beaches at Haverigg and Silecroft and the Hodbarrow RSPB reserve are a 10-minute drive, whilst the cute market town of Broughton-in-Furness is 15 minutes away. Within a half hour drive you will also find Coniston Water, the Barrow-in-Furness Peninsula (pretty drives, South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Furness Abbey, The Dock Museum, Walney Island Nature Reserve, Piel Island, Furness Owls, Gleaston Watermill and the Cumbrian Coastal Way), Muncaster Castle and ’La’al Ratty’ miniature steam railway at Ravenglass, which all make for wonderful family days out. The Aquarium of the Lakes and steam boat cruises on Windermere are a 40-minute drive. You can enjoy wonderful views from your very own spa hot tub, complete with massage jets, built-in sound system and feature lighting. In order to make guests’ stays as relaxing as possible, shopping, ‘drop off suppers’ and massage and beauty treatments (at the cottage) can be pre-ordered (separate charges apply). Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 4½ miles.

We were a group of 10 celebrating our daughters 16th birthday. The views were stunning and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. The downstairs rooms were delightful and we loved the open plan kitchen and lounge area, the fire was quite difficult to keep going but we were lovely and warm just the same. The kitchen was so well equiped and welcoming. The snug with the playstation was a welcome addition as there were 7 teenagers so it meant there was plenty room to spread out. The bedrooms were comfortable and well equipped with lovely bedding and good quality fittings, tv in all room also a bonus. The bathroom was lovely and the main en suite excellent, the only drawback was the shower in the second double room did not get hot at all even if left for over 20 mins, so it meant we had to share the main bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our house-party weekend and would definitely stay again if holidaying in a large group.

What a beautiful property. Absolutely perfect. Stayed with eight girlfriends travelling from different parts of UK. This property has absolutely everything you need. It's contemporary with little touches that make your stay perfect. Hot tub was amazing too. Will be booking for next year.

Me and my husband stayed here for a week with our two boys, and two sets of grandparents along with their dogs. I cannot put into words how beautiful this property was. Stepping from a noisy car up the steps to the house made the long journey worth it. The peace and stunning view is the perfect remedy to de stress and unwind. The house was spectacular, immaculate , warm, welcoming and luxury. The house had everything you could possibly need and was so well put together. The highlight for me was the main bedroom which was very relaxing. The beds were the most comfortable I have slept in ( in fact we are currently ordering the bedding!) the kitchen was a great place to bond with the whole family and the hot tub was brilliant for a splash with the kids or a relax alone.( apart from the odd sheep!) The dogs also settled well in the space. We will definitely visit again one day.. 10/10 ! A truly beautiful Holliday.

Stunning place, only negative was the hot tub only worked for 1 of the 3 days, when they came out to fix the problem we got told just to let it heat up, which it never did.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for your feedback. The hot tub is in fine working order. Unfortunately, if one of the buttons on the hot tub control panel is pressed (contrary to the information left for guests) it switches off the heating element! Being a very large tub, it can take up to 8 hours to bring the tub back up to temperature.

A beautiful house with stunning scenery. Loads of space indoors and out but without loosing the cosy cottage feel.
