Loved staying at a Robins Nest over the new year period. The location and proximity to Kirkcudbright where perfect. The only negative was that the wifi went off on the second day of our stay which was a bit of a letdown as the wifi was one of the features that had lead us to chose the cottage. Although this was not down to the fault of the owners, unfortunately the weather conditions caused this. I was absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone as it was a lovely cosy (yet spacious) property in an ideal location for exploring the local sights

We could not have had a better holiday - we enjoyed every minute of it, visiting, inter alia, Castle Douglas, the Threave Estate, Kippford, Rockcliffe Bay, Wigtown (for its bookshops), and several half-days in Kirkcudbright itself, including visits to MacLellan's Castle and Broughton House. The 'high spot' was perhaps the river crossing to Threave Castle, which we followed by a look at the ospreys' nest.
