Excellent accomodation, clean and well kept. Plenty of towels. Pub across road. Second shower would improve this property. Would come again.

Lovely house, quiet location, directly opposite the local pub, but not one bit of noise. Lovely place with plenty of room. Central heating. Lovely bedding, big bedrooms, plenty of space. Very well equipped kitchen. Lots of added extras which were very much appreciated.

It was an excellent 3 night stay for the 4 of us at High House. Met and chatted to the owner Gill who is a very nice friendly lady. Thank you. Added bonus was the hot tub. Lovely relaxing time had by all. I would highly recommend this place. We will definitely be returning sometime in the new year.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at High House although we didn't feel it was particularly good value for money, especially if you are not fussed about the hot tub. There were very few user manuals, for things such as the oven, which would have been impossible to decipher (all of the settings had worn off) had a previous visitor not written instructions in the guest book. We also had to clean the freezer out before we could use it and the shower wasn't much good. There was also no lock on the downstairs bathroom door. A reminder not to drink the tap water(without boiling first) by the kitchen sink and an extra set of front door keys would both have been helpful. The hoover also didn't work, but all credit to the owner, she brought a replacement round. Positives are that the house is very roomy, a TV in all bedrooms, clean beds, plenty of towels for the hot tub, a nice garden and it is very convenient (we loved the Boughton Arms directly across the road: lovely food, good value and very welcoming landlord). We "got by" with all the niggles, but for the money, expected a higher standard.

The cottage was great especially the hot tub which all of us loved. Everything we needed was provided to make for a relaxing holiday. The garden really is enclosed for those who have dogs. The owners were lovely and anything we needed was no trouble we just had to ask. Our only problem with the location was the lack of anywhere to walk dogs off the lead as there are sheep everywhere! For those who like outdoor activities, Black Mountain Activity Centre is just half an hour away and is highly recommended.

A very nice cottage, comfortable, clean and a very nice welcome pack . We didn't get to use the hot tub but it is checked daily and I am sure it would be a big attraction . The cottage is generally well equipped but we didn't have a cork screw-- almost a disaster if one of out party hadn't got one themselves! or a bread knife and we think there is perhaps no overall list to check these items . I am sure they would have been there but have "disappeared" There is a lovely outside seating area and I would just suggest the garden could be a little improved to enhance that experience

My family which includes three children all contacted a rash using the hot tub at this house called folliculitis infection as well as sickness and diarrhoea due to the water in the hot tub not being changed or tested, the water was visably dirty. My children have not been able to sit down all week due to painful rash on their buttocks.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- Very sorry to hear about the problem you experienced ,I can confirm the hot tub at high house is always emptied after each rental-it is drained cleaned and re heated, the filters are cleaned with a recommended filter cleaner, the frog system is put in place and the spa test strips are used to test the hot water in the hot tub to make sure it is meticulously clean, the party who stayed at the property immediately after you used the hot tub with no problem ,the water in the hot tub was tested each morning and was fine.

Fantastic stay at a very comfortable, clean and relaxing cottage. Local amenities were a small shop and a pub, nothing much more meaning a car trip for meals and such. We couldn't fault the cottage though, defenatly stay there again. 👍🏻
