What a lovely cottage in a good location. Rural but close to Kendal with all the amenities you need. The cottage is spotless and well looked after, with all you need for a comfortable stay. The only downsides were that there were no walks from the cottage (e.g. No public footpaths) so had to drive to go for a walk. Also the £100 deposit made me feel I couldn't completely relax, especially with a toddler. I was terrified he'd break or spill something accidentally and that I wouldn't get my deposit back. However, I would consider staying again. Anne the owner was very welcoming.

This was our third stay in the last eight years and will not be the last. Fantastic cottage a real home from home. A huge thank you to the owner Ann, nothing is too much trouble. So many amazing places to visit within the area and we also enjoyed sunshine. The cottage was beautiful and clean as always and we miss the patio area where we sat each morning for breakfast. Would highly recommend.

The cottage was perfect for what we wanted. The views were fantastic. The kitchen was open plan and the utilities were up to date. The only issue was that we were charged £30 to replace a chair that was left outside for one night and was 'damaged' due to weather wearing. However, there appeared nothing much wrong with the chair, and the chair itself was quite old and weathered to begin with.

We loved our stay at Butterbent! The location was beautiful and a nice drive to all the Lake District sites. Our group was comfortable and cozy. Because of today's world, we would have liked to have access to the internet, but that was the only thing we would have changed on our visit! Thank you to the Lady of the house. :)

Loved the cottage, the owner was very friendly and approachable and the property, location and views suited our purpose perfectly. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well maintained. My only criticism would be the lack of pressure in the shower, however, the rest of the property more than made up for this.
