Absolutely amazing stay! The cottage was very cosy and comfy, with absolutely everything you could possible need! It even had every thing you could need for a baby too very well equipped which made all the difference! The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly! Will definitely return!

Lovely location, beautiful views out of the kitchen window & garden. Close to where we needed to be to visit family for days out. Although we didn't get to have our days out as it isn't 100% pet friendly, we were told on arrival that we are not allowed to leave our dog unattended in the cottage. Insurance doesn't cover it and we were offered information on local kennels, I thought this was unacceptable when we'd paid extra to bring our dog, rather than put him in kennels ourself. Another option suggested to us was to leave him in the car! My husband and I find this quite unacceptable also, not fair on our dog and could come under animal neglect especially if it was a warm day! Thankfully we managed to make it work by taking our dog everywhere with us and keeping him separate from our families dogs as they don't get on/don't see enough of each other to/ bad experience when ours was a puppy. But not fair when it was our first 'holiday' with our dog. Don't know if this is a general rule for everyone that stays because I don't know how they would go shopping in Bath etc when they have to take their dog everywhere, or if it was down to breed discrimination. It's a lovely place to stay, homemade scones are a nice touch but maybe think about leaving your dog with someone or in kennels.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your kind words about Herons Nest, the location and my scones. I am sorry the cottage was not suitable for your young Rottweiler dog. Generally, our guests bring a crate for their dog if they are planning to leave the cottage for a couple of hours. It means they know their dog is safe and the property is too. Otherwise, the dog is very much part of their holiday, and they enjoy the local walks.
