Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Spot herons, kingfishers and moorhens from the lake in front of the cottages and enjoy coarse fishing nearby.

This delightful holiday cottage enjoys an idyllic setting, surrounded by trees and an abundance of wildlife, in six acres of shared grounds. Converted from former stable buildings, this cottage overlooks the lake where herons, kingfishers and moorhens can be spotted, and benefits from views over the surrounding Kent farmland, with its own patio from which the country air and unspoilt scenery can be enjoyed. This is a genuine rural haven, far from major roads and an excellent area for walkers, it is accessed along a farm road and has many good foot paths to explore. Within easy reach are the famous Sissinghurst Castle Garden and Smallhythe Place, featuring the Dame Ellen Terry Museum and a timbered, 16th-century yeoman’s home. The magnificent cathedral city of Canterbury and the beach at Camber Sands are both 20 miles away. Golf, tennis, riding and coarse fishing are available locally. Shop 1½ miles, nearest pub just over a mile away.

Nice cottage in a lovely location. The downside is the very low ceilings on the first floor.Everybody of an average height or more will have to bend their heads especially in the bathroom. I banged my head twice!

Loved the isolation and tranquillity but would be lost without a car. Only two gripes, the wooden bed frames gave us bruised shins, and wifi would have been nice, but probably not possible in that spot.

Beautiful location about a mile from the village. Gorgeous lake with lots of surrounding trees and fields, and the owners are lovely!

Setting with pond very special but during much of our week no hot water for bath and no internet connection.Well publicised low ceilings upstairs take some time to get used to.But a warm comfortable cottage with a splendid outlook.

Not really a cottage but 2 houses attached to each other - the welcome pack was - a pint of milk! There were a few tea bags abs some sachets - the coffee in the jar was so old it was rock hard and stuck in jar! The lighting near the lake very poor - no outside security lights on property for the evenings either - no instructions for boiler etc - could have with a good clean - could not see tv in daytime as completely smeared where not wiped properly. Bathroom very small - no head height. The location fantastic though - dog friendly too

We had a very nice time in this lovely cottage. The location was superb, and because the weather was so nice we spent most of the time in the garden which is abundant with all sorts of animals. As mentioned a few times already, the first floor is quite cramped - we are used to camping in a tent so it didn't bother us that much, but be prepared to bump your head a few times, especially in the bathroom! That aside we were very happy staying here.
