We had a great stay, location was good. Could do with a larger TV and changing light bulbs to LED as ordinary bulbs give off so much heat especially in the kitchen when cooking. It was good having 2 fridges for all the storage of food. WIFI was not althrough the house, and in bad weather it can drop off completely, suggest getting range extender for this. The mobile reception was non existent for Vodafone but in a separate room there was a land line with coin operation. On arrival we were told to look out for a white rock at the entrance, which was not there anymore! The welcome folder needs to be updated and add in some points of interest with regards to eateries and places to visit. All leaflets were in a welsh dresser but it was by accident that we came across it. I like the recycling, very good compared to other counties in Wales. Could have done with more food bags, 1 spare food bag was not enough. All the bedrooms were large for what we needed, could do,with somewhere to hang a towel on especially if you are a large group and you don't want to get it mixed up with anyone's else's. The radiators in the main bedroom and little room next to it was not warm at all through out our stay, so a little nippy. Good value, quiet location and it wasn't really the end of the world when the WIFI stopped. We all had to have a conversation and make up games , just like the old times. It was 2 families with 4 children and we will definitely be back.

We stayed here with our dogs for the weekend at the end of October. It's a Lovely spacious cottage in a stunning setting. The cottage was extremely spacious but with a nice cosy feel to it. Furnished well with An enormous supply of crockery and kitchen equipment should you wish to cook. Plenty of clean linen, cupboards full of board games, a music room means if you are having a cosy afternoon in there is still plenty to do. washing and cleaning facilities available however you do need to take washing powder if you needed to use the washing machine. It really was a perfect get away and we would most definitely go back again.

Hoel Llygoden is in a beautiful part of Wales with plenty of attractions within a 30 minute drive. The house has everything you need and the housekeeper was there to welcome us and answer any questions. The WiFi was intermittent but that is flagged on the cottage details and in reality we were able to get onto the internet it was just slightly slow. For us it became a positive as it encouraged the teenagers to join us downstairs in the evening for a game (there was a good supply at the house), rather than go up to their rooms. My only criticism would be the upkeep of the garden. The grass was slightly long when we arrived and we were not aware that anyone came to cut in during our 2 week stay. Some of the trees on the drive also need cutting back as they were hitting the roof of the car. The bench and seats in the front garden were not really usable(either broken or mouldy) although the bench in the back garden was relatively new and we were able to sit out and eat our lunch looking at the Black Mountains, which was lovely.
