Description

This eco-friendly property has stunning rural views and is just 3½ miles from Rye. Spend a day at one of the many beaches in the area, including Camber Sands.

Escape to this stunning, detached eco-build which is made of Canadian red cedar, and enjoy glorious, sheep-filled rural views across the picturesque Brede Levels. Situated on the edge of the Cinque port town of Winchelsea and just 3½ miles from the medieval market town of Rye. This is an ideal holiday destination for friends and families, with an inviting wood burner for cooler evenings, a galleried landing leading to a balcony offering superb, elevated, picture postcard views and bi-folding doors on the ground floor that open out onto a terrace with an inviting hot tub. Ideal walking territory, with footpaths from the doorstep, or stroll beside the Royal Military Canal, which stretches from almost Hastings to Hythe. Bring your binoculars and head towards Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, which offers five bird watching hides with easy access - hear the nightingale sing in the springtime. The comedian Spike Milligan’s headstone can be spotted in the church yard in Winchelsea, with the immortalized words ’I told you I was ill!’ Take a swim at Camber Sands or Winchelsea Beach, discover 4000-year-old fossilized forests or spot a shipwreck along the Hastings coast. Battle Abbey also makes for a great day out. Beach 2 miles. Shop and pub 1 mile, restaurant 300 yards.

Perfect weather in May. We spend a lovely week with playing Golf and we did enjoy the Hot Tub . Unfortunately has Oscar Henry House anywhere steps, not good to our disabled member of our party, but when we do the booking there was no one disabled.

We had an absolutely fantastic time celebrating my mums 70th birthday at Henry Oscar House. The house itself is beautiful and very well equipped. I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back. Bill and Val were the perfect hosts.

The best holiday cottage we have stayed in. The views from the house are amazing and so relaxing. The house is spacious and well arranged with some additional pieces of quirky furniture which add character. Beds were comfy and bedrooms spacious with plenty of space for clothes. We were celebrating birthdays and the house proved to be a brilliant choice.

I booked this stunning house to celebrate my 50th Birthday with five of my friends. The property didn't disappoint, it has been built and decorated, by Bill the owner, to a very high specification. On arrival we received a very nice welcome pack containing milk, bread, eggs, tea, coffee and even a bottle of Prosecco and a Birthday cake (with candle) which we extremely thoughtful. The location is rural with beautiful views to be enjoyed from the house and also from the hot tub. The house was extremely clean and very very well equipped. The log burning fire was wonderful and the house has a cosy feel whilst remaining stylish. Winchelsea is a quaint place and The New Inn pub is certainly worth a visit. A walk along the coast-line to Rye is well worth it but be prepared for a long walk! I can't recommend this house highly enough, you won't be disappointed. We hope to come back again as we enjoyed our stay so much.

This is a stunning property with every need catered for. We stayed over New Year and the property was decorated beautifully for Christmas, the weather however was typically British which prevented us from enjoying all of the local amenities the location had to offer. We ate out all but one of the evenings in a different restaurant/pub and every time enjoyed our meals. We ordered an indian meal one night which was delivered without a hitch and enjoyed. To summarize this is a great property built to a high specification, with a fabulous welcome pack and lovely hosts.
