Location: You will discover a piece of British history at Acton Scott, for it achieved national fame as the setting for BBC2’s hit TV series Victorian Farm, acknowledging the Acton family’s championing of sustainable practices. It has been followed by another Acton Scott-based BBC TV series Escape in Time, new for 2010 and presented by Ben Fogle.
Guests can enjoy a memorable setting and a multitude of activities on this lovingly preserved estate, including the Historic Working Farm - where the land is worked with heavy horses to preserve a way of life before the age of the tractor. This visitor attraction is a firm favourite with families. There’s the handy School House café (open April to October) and lovely guided walks and cycle rides.
The prettiest market towns and traditional country pubs are all close at hand, including Shrewsbury to the north, on the banks of the River Severn; and Ludlow, to the south, in its medieval castle setting. This is a food paradise with Michelin star restaurants and artisan shops galore. The spectacular Stretton Hills and Welsh Marches offer riding, cycling and walking. Among the many nearby sites are Attingham Park, the famous Ironbridge Gorge and its many museums, the castles of Powis and Stokesay and Wroxeter Roman city.

This was a group booking for my 40th Birthday. We were so happy with Henley Farmhouse. It is a beautiful place, with well equipped kitchens, lovely bedrooms and lounge areas and a fabulous garden. The bedrooms can be configured to meet your parties needs as most beds can be utilised as twins or doubles and this is sorted out for your arrival. We would definately book again!

Really fabulous farmhouse. Fantastic for large groups. Due to nature of our celebration, we could only book for a three night stay longer stays work out cheaper and we booked in high season The rooms were spotless beds comfy. Really well supplied with crockery and glassware. Could have done with sharper prep knives and also oven gloves. However the place was lovely. Our ages ranged from 65 to 13 months. The owner was extremely helpful over the phone. Highly recommended for big family gatherings.

Lovely farmhouse and plenty of space for the numbers. Great for children as lots of "secret" staircases. Good heating and the fire was a great thing for the winter. There are some walks that can be done but they are across fields so quite muddy in the winter. Church Stretton 10 minutes drive away and lots to do there Kitchen utensils are a bit lacking and the washing machine has seen better days. Some thick dust in areas.
