Unfortunately when we arrived the property was not very clean. We chose a property that didn't allow pets but unfortunately had to spend time hoovering dog hairs which were everywhere. My eight year old asthmatic son spent the week wheezing every time we were in the property. There were crumbs etc on the kitchen table and work tops, the fridge had bits of broccoli all on the bottom and the dishwasher was fully loaded. The property was stunning and well equipped but the cleanliness was very disappointing .Also the track running down to property is a bit of a hazard !!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am very disappointed to read your feedback following your recent stay at Heatherlea. The property is thoroughly cleaned prior to each guests stay and I very rarely receive any negative comments in regards to cleanliness. In fact, I stayed in the property prior to your arrival and the property was cleaned twice, firstly by myself before leaving and then by my cleaner who attended the property shortly after I left. If a guest finds something that is not to their satisfaction, we would kindly ask them to call me on the number provided or Cottages.com and we can deal with any concerns. The property is advertised as not accepting pets however; this does not mean no pets visit the property as this is our family holiday home. Also, properties which do not accept pets may have on occasions had guide dogs in them as it is a legal requirement for all holiday lets to accept assistance dogs. The access road to the property was constructed in accordance with the law at the time of construction and all necessary consents were obtained and complied with and is not a hazard. It is accepted that the access road is a steep single unmade road and like the single track road which runs between Broadford and Elgol, requires extra care when driving along it.

Great house. Bigger than expected. Although not something we needed there was a stair gate at top and bottom of stairs. Location may be remote for some people but ideal for us. All that was missing was a sea view. Loads to see and do nearby. Really relaxing holiday. Hope to return soon.

The all around view from the windows in 3 walls is stunning. The wooden stairway down to the bedrooms, with window and lighting is beautiful. The lighting, space, heating and kitchen are very good. The garden is also well designed and planted in the landscape, with beautiful wall. If I did not suffer from severe dust mite allergy it would really be the perfect place to be, really suited to our dreams and wishes! Some suggestions: varnish, seal all the bare wood beams and window sills, no perfumed candles or incense. And only the beautiful pictures, a single pebble and beautiful Sophie duck would certainly be enough to decorate this beautiful place. It would also help to give information if the duvets and pillows of the beds are synthetic. For people without a dust mite allergy it is and excellent place to stay!
