An old cottage adjacent to a main road, which fortunately does not carry heavy traffic. Virtually quiet at night. Furnishings OK. Could do with a small drinks table by the sofa. Small shower/toilet room but adequate. Handy to have use of the adjacent utility room. Off road parking. Overall, I was happy with the cottage . A little basic but it had everything I needed at a fair price.

Nice cottage, lovely area, beautiful scenery. Close to shops and easy drive to Aviemore. Cottage is basic but has everything you need. Doesn't have a proper oven but has a portable halogen cooker/air fryer which was easy to use once I read the instructions for it,. Otherwise was pretty well stocked. Fire was cosy.

The post code sent covered a wider area and as there we no indication that we had reached Heather cottage, we had a slight anxiety as to if we were in the correct cottage. The cottage was cold as we entered, as the heating, controlled by the owner, had not been activated. It was a well proportioned cottage, clean but a slight home improvement on the sofa, didn't really work, as the cushions kept sliding down, and having to readjust them was a pain. It would have been helpful to have included accurate information about local amenities, as the bar and restaurant was closed, and is currently on the market for sale. Also a list of local emergency contact numbers such as the nearest doctor ( which we did in fact need during our 2 week stay), dentist, chemist churches etc would have been welcome. The biggest issue I would have is the central heating , which is controlled by the owner. There is no indication when this will come on, for how long and at what temperature. Thankfully, the owner did provide a movable electric radiator, which quickly heated up the house, when we returned wet and cold.

Cottage done out nice enough and is clean. It would be better if there was a proper oven. It is a bit out of the way.

We loved Heather Cottage. The view was amazing and it was just right for the two of us as a base to explore the Highlands. There is no oven, but there is a hob and microwave and quite honestly we like to eat out when on holiday, so this was fine for us. Other than that, the cottage is well equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean and towels were provided in the bathroom. It was quite chilly at night, but there is a heater and it soon made it warm and cosy. You do have to be prepared to drive for any shopping, the shop at Laggan has closed down, but this wasn't a problem for us. It was lovely to be in amongst the beautiful scenery, but it's not as quiet as you would expect as the road outside is very busy - again not an issue for us. We were very happy with Heather Cottage and would definitely stay there again.

In our opinion the cottage was great for us.We had a great time there. The scenery was spot on and we saw a Golden Eagle quite regularly. The only downside of the cottage was its location, being about 5 feet from the road which had the national speed limit.(bit daunting sometimes when some of the traffic was massive lumber trucks). We would definitely stay again.

The cottage was clean and well run although it could use a mirror in the bedroom to be able to do your hair for us it was too remote and we would find somewhere different next time
