From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Nestling in a rural location, this holiday property provides a wonderful retreat from which to discover the delights of the island.

Nestling peacefully in a rural hamlet location, adjacent to a quiet country lane opposite fields, these beautifully presented holiday properties provide a wonderful retreat from which to discover the delights of the island. Situated in the grounds of a Grade II listed thatched cottage, they have been fully refurbished and stylishly furnished. They have exposed stone and beams and offer an ideal retreat for couples - perfectly located for keen walkers and cyclists. Chale village, 1½ miles, lies at the foot of St Catherines Hill, and close by there are walks along miles of Heritage coastline, beaches and country pubs. Within easy reach are St Catherines Lighthouse, pretty villages of Shorwell Brighstone, Chale and Niton and amazing rock formations of the Needles. Blackgang Chine and Yarmouth Harbour are also within easy reach as well as numerous other holiday attractions. Picturesque thatched rooftop villages such as Old Shanklin, Godshill and Brighstone serve ice cream and cream teas, and many of the seaside resorts serve freshly caught fish of the day. This temperate island has towering cliffs, beaches, bays and coves, farmlands, river valleys and steep ravines, all linked by a 500-mile network of footpaths including 68 miles of coastal walks with spectacular views which are all accessed easily. For the outdoor enthusiast, there are also golf courses, riding, mountain biking, fishing, sailing, crabbing, surfing, kite flying, hang gliding and jet skiing. Shop and pubs approximately 1½ miles.

Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and exposed stonework. Double bedroom with en-suite jet spa contemporary shower room and toilet.

The cottage had everything we needed but nothing extra (minimal crockery and glasses meant we had to put the dishwasher on quite often). The bath towels were very small and thin, which seemed a bit mean. The biggest problem was that the whole place smelt very damp and all our possessions smelt damp when we got home. Lynn, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, and the cottage is generally comfortable and quietly and prettily located, but the damp smell and dark feel would put us off staying there again.

We found the cottage to be an ideal place to stay for our holiday on the Isle of Wight. It was clean, comfortable, and situated in a location that was ideal for visiting the various places of interest on the island . We would recommend the cottage wholeheartedly to couples who want a quiet place to stay on the island. A pair of binoculars are provided to allow the visitor to keep an eye on the varied wildlife that visit the area around the cottage. Much more enjoyable than watching television ! The Isle of Wight is a lovely place to have a holiday. There is a tremendous amount to see and do and we will certainly be back at some point in the future.

The shower is dangerous, it is very easy to accidently move the temperature control/on/off handle to very hot whilst in the shower causing a possible scalding.

An excellent compact cottage ideally suited to a couple. Warm, clean and well equipped and the 'welcome pack' was well appreciated as were the fresh flowers on the table. Set in the owners lovely garden.
