For a family wishing to get away from it all, Hazelwood is lovely. Plenty to see and do in the area with lovely walks including the fantastic Tolkein Trail and brilliant pony trekking centre about 1/2 hour drive.

Excellent cottage, in the middle of a lot of great villages, worth exploring, the owner very helpful, looking forward into staying there in the future.

Lovely relaxing holiday. Very warm welcome from Margaret the owner and her family. Just like a home from home. The view from front living room window just beautiful and if you're a bird watcher it couldn't be better. We spotted Sparrowhawks, Jays and Kestrels all within a couple of days. Would we go back? Yes definitely.

The owners of the property are wonderful people. I took my elderly and infirm parents for a last look at an area they love, and they went out of their way to make them feel welcome. Unfortunately, my father's illness prevented us from making the most of the holiday, but that is no reflection on the accommodation which I could not fault. Beautifully clean, spacious and homely, it would have been the perfect holiday destination in happier times. I would unconditionally recommend it to anyone looking for a home from home in this beautiful part of the world.

Even with the ages in our party ranging from my 89-year old mother, to my 12-week old grandson, the layout and amenities of Hazelwood suited everyone. The property owners are brilliant people - very welcoming and helpful. There are plenty of local pubs serving great food, and various takeaways within a 10-minute drive. A great place to use as a base to explore the surrounding areas, or just somewhere to enjoy a relaxing break.
