Description

Hazel Cottage is a spacious lodge in a countryside setting, perfect for those who enjoy exploring stunning landscapes.

In the beautiful upper Eden Valley, nestling between Appleby and Kirkby Stephen at the foot of the Cumbrian Pennines, and conveniently located adjacent to and just off the trans Pennine trunk road (A66). This makes the location an excellent touring base for exploring the Yorkshire and Durham Dales to the east, and the Lakes to the west. These detached holiday lodges provide accommodation of an excellent standard, they are tastefully furnished, very comfortable and well equipped, they enjoy countryside views and a totally separate and lovely setting on a no through lane within a small, rural caravan park. The park encourages wildlife and has a conservation pond with a wide variety of birds in the surrounding woodlands and frequent visits from roe deer. This is a wonderful base for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits – less than a mile away, main roads give access to the myriad attractions and stunning landscapes of the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and County Durham, and the shops, pubs and restaurants of Brough are also only 1 mile. The larger town of Kirkby Stephen, 5 miles, has a supermarket and variety of gift shops, cafes, tourist information office, library and station for the Carlisle/Settle railway.

The accommodation was clean and well equipped . The only downside that would stop me going back would be the road noise

My wife wasn't happy with the cleanliness and also we thought for the price the wifi would have been included in the price.

Enjoyed our stay very much but found that settees too low although they were very comfortable had problems getting up off them. Put extra cushions on the seat to raise it.

Went to this cottage with 3 grandchildren and 2 dogs. Loved it, went to Bowness on windermere, ullswater and keswick. The cottage is very roomy and there was lots of space for us all. Great place to chill after a day out with the kiddies and doggies.

You have to be prepared to travel to attractions. However if you are happy to do this there is plenty of excellent places to visit. The Cottage was very comfortable and the site manager was very helpful.
