Directions to the property were very good. Loved the first sight of the cottage and enjoyed exploring it when we arrived. We were surprised at the size of the property and although we took a little while to adjust to the stairs, we had a fabulous stay. The range of toys and games available for children was amazing and there was a good range of books on the bookshelf - although we did not stay in long enough to read. As we were staying at the end of September, it was fun to get the real fire going, although it was hard work trying to chop logs into smaller pieces to set up the fire. The Wi-fi was a bit patchy but this gave us the chance to spend our evenings playing board games we brought with us, in the kitchen at the large table. Overall, a lovely week relaxing with friends and would certainly book this property again.

We spent there two weeks in April (8-22nd) 2017. Pluses: secluded location on top of the hill, not overlooked by anyone and peaceful countryside views over the woods and grazing cows. 4 fairly specious bedrooms (1 downstairs- completely separate from the rest, and 3 upstairs), with an additional hall space upstairs with a futon bed and a very good and generous selection of toys for younger children. Few good board games downstairs. Good provision of wood for the fire. Lovely space outside to enjoy meals in the garden. The house had a charm about it. 10 mins drive to the charming local village Aumale, and a supermarket. Minuses: the house was freezing cold, with no central heating. There were individual radiators in the rooms, but it was hard to keep the lounge or the dining area warm and runs to the toilet via the corridor had to be superquick at night! The fire added cosines, but didn't add heat. The drive way was quite tricky to get in and out, due to its narrowness and a sharp corner to the gate/road. There seemed to be a fair bit of dead flies upstairs on the floor in the hall and one of the bedrooms. And they kept appearing even after being hoovered. The kitchen had enough equipment to survive, but only one usable frying pan (small), which was a bit massacred by the previous users. And the bowls were small, not big enough to serve soup for instance (though who cooks soup on holidays often?) I also wished for a good sized salad bowl.
