Description

This converted barn offers a nice, romantic base from which to explore this great area.

These three properties are situated in a peaceful wooded area with walks right from the doorstep and numerous roe deer around, yet only 2½ miles from the village of Dunkeld with its shops, ancient fountain and cathedral. Osprey Cottage (ref 15885) has been converted to create a super holiday retreat with rugs on polished wooden floors upstairs in the living areas, and cosy bedrooms below. Heather Croft (ref 26213) is a detached bungalow nearby, cleverly designed by the owners with lots of windows to maximize views of the surrounding countryside. The But ‘n’ Ben (ref 28139) is a charming converted barn for two. An ideal choice whatever the weather. Next door to Dunkeld is Birnam, home of the Beatrix Potter exhibition and where there are riverside walks along the Tay. An 18-hole golf course is 1½ miles away beside the Loch of Lowes Wildlife Reserve. There are walks and cycle tracks in the bordering forest. Fishing locally. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with patio doors and tiled floor. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Oil central heating included (£25per week 15th September-21st April). Gas and electricity included. Travel cot and high chair (on request). Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-Fi. Parking (1 car).

All properties: Bed linen and towels included. Dishwasher. Shared 3-acre natural and wooded grounds with sitting-out area and furniture. Cycle store. No smoking. NB: Unfenced stream in grounds.

An absolutely fantastic cottage. Very well equipped, the large walk in power shower was brilliant as my partner is disabled. So cosy and in a beautiful woodland setting. Heather's home made preserves and pickles are wonderful!

We couldn't speak highly enough of this cottage which was one of the best equipped we have stayed in. Great walks in the surrounding forest for both humans & dogs. Lovely welcoming owners with free range eggs & home made ( by the owner) chutneys & marmalades one could buy on the premises.

We had a wonderful short break here, the cottage had everything that we needed, and Heather and Leslie couldn't have been more welcoming. The cottage is in a great location, with walks from the door, but only a few minutes drive away from Dunkeld and the A9. We hope to return again.
