Description

This converted barn offers a nice, romantic base from which to explore this great area.

These three properties are situated in a peaceful wooded area with walks right from the doorstep and numerous roe deer around, yet only 2½ miles from the village of Dunkeld with its shops, ancient fountain and cathedral. Osprey Cottage (ref 15885) has been converted to create a super holiday retreat with rugs on polished wooden floors upstairs in the living areas, and cosy bedrooms below. Heather Croft (ref 26213) is a detached bungalow nearby, cleverly designed by the owners with lots of windows to maximize views of the surrounding countryside. The But ‘n’ Ben (ref 28139) is a charming converted barn for two. An ideal choice whatever the weather. Next door to Dunkeld is Birnam, home of the Beatrix Potter exhibition and where there are riverside walks along the Tay. An 18-hole golf course is 1½ miles away beside the Loch of Lowes Wildlife Reserve. There are walks and cycle tracks in the bordering forest. Fishing locally. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with patio doors and tiled floor. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Oil central heating included (£25per week 15th September-21st April). Gas and electricity included. Travel cot and high chair (on request). Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-Fi. Parking (1 car).

All properties: Bed linen and towels included. Dishwasher. Shared 3-acre natural and wooded grounds with sitting-out area and furniture. Cycle store. No smoking. NB: Unfenced stream in grounds.

We had a wonderful short break here, the cottage had everything that we needed, and Heather and Leslie couldn't have been more welcoming. The cottage is in a great location, with walks from the door, but only a few minutes drive away from Dunkeld and the A9. We hope to return again.

Hosts heather and Leslie extremely welcoming and very helpful and nothing that was asked of them was too much trouble for them to help with. Location of the cottage was idealic and certainly somewhere to go if you wanted to switch off and totally relax. Walks on the doorstep we're absolutely stunning through the woods which our chocolate lab rolli enjoyed immensely and tired her out which is something that does not happen often. We will certainly be back again.

Excellent accommodation apart from the fact the bed was a bit on the small side and the duvet was too heavy. An alternatinewould have been appreciated.

We had a lovely relaxing short break in this beautiful cottage. A bit off the beaten track but still only 5minutes in the car from Dunkeld. The cottage is small but ideal for a couple and a dog, like us. The owners, Leslie and Heather were very welcoming and always happy to help. We will definitely return.

A tiny cottage but very comfortable and well presented. Perfect location, well away from the road, set in large garden. very quiet. We loved the hens coming round each morning. Lots of light coming in through the glazed front door and rear french windows. We would stay there again.
