Harvest barn is great accommodation in a great location but it might not suit every dog owner or family with small children. The facilities and items provided are well thought out and there were lots of toys and games to play. The cottage itself is spacious and stunning. The views from the kitchen were lovely and there's lots of wild life to look at. The location is fantastic, 10-20 minutes from days out, beaches, amusements, restaurants etc The huge legged bath is a real luxury. Luckily, our dog was well suited to the huge, open outdoor space and this made for a holiday where he was well exercised and very happy with minimum effort from us. If your dog can't go off lead and is a known escapee then the outdoor area would not be suitable (unless of course you put your dog on the lead every time it went outside). Beds are exceptionally comfortable and there are an abundance of blankets to choose from downstairs. The floor does have some grout missing in large chunks and we had read a comment posted a few years back that mentioned this. Unfortunately it hasn't been dealt with and my 3 year old daughter narrowly missed tripping into the brick fire place when her foot went down one of these gaps. It could have been a lot worse and this needs addressing straight away to avoid serious accidents in the future. Attention to detail was missing where cleaning was concerned. Large amounts of old dusty cobwebs hung on the ceiling above the upstairs bed. These were not in out of reach areas and could of been picked up with a Hoover pipe. Lots of cobwebs on lamp shades and other areas within easy reach too. The downstairs bedroom had 3 full length mirrors whereas the upper bedroom had only a tiny mirror that you can't really see anything in! Apart from the floor issue the other comments are only minor gripes, non of which upset our holiday. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay but had just a few niggly issues that it may be worth the owner being aware of: Some loose slabs on the step out into the garden, which my toddler fell on. Also some wobbly tiles in the kitchen. Slow cooker provided had handle melted off, which made it extremely difficult to get the food out without getting burnt. Some issues with all the curtains as they were missing hooks or not hung correctly and therefore would not pull fully. One of the chairs in the dining room was extremely wobbly and quite dangerous, especially as it is on a concrete floor. Lighting in the house was inadequate and I was unable to read in the evenings because of this. Partly due to not enough lights/use of up lighters but also some missing bulbs too. On the positive, the house was well equipped for things for the children. Also the welcoming hamper was a lovely thought.
