Panoramic views over Whitby harbour from this townhouse, Captain Cook Museum, sea fishing, and Whitby Abbey close by.

Enjoying one of the best positions in Whitby, this stylish, architect-designed, adjoining townhouse has accommodation cleverly arranged over four floors, and has panoramic views over the marina and River Esk. The spacious holiday property has been furnished and equipped to a very good standard, has off-street parking for 2 cars and is just a 15-minute walk from the town centre. It is ideal for family get-togethers and groups of friends. Whitby has something for everyone, whatever the time of year. The town is dominated by the ruins of Whitby Abbey, beside St Mary’s Church on the cliff top, from which the famous 199 steps lead down to the narrow streets and ginnels with a wealth of shops and restaurants. The seaport has the famous Captain Cook Museum; fishing and pleasure trips are available from the quayside and 3 miles of sandy beach lead towards Sandsend. The picturesque coastal villages of Robin Hood’s Bay and Runswick Bay are nearby, not forgetting the stunning scenery of the North York Moors which can be enjoyed by train, often steam hauled. Both Scarborough and York are easily reached on a day trip. For sports lovers, Whitby has a golf course and an indoor swimming pool; there are opportunities for sea and freshwater fishing, fantastic cycle paths are close by and walkers are spoilt for choice! Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards. Can be booked with property 17825 to accommodate up to 17 guests.

Great location and fabulous view, nice house esp the master bedroom and bathroom. Cleaners could do better - bin was mouldy and cobwebs eveywhere but nothing that spoilt a fantastic holiday in a lovely house and location.

What a perfect base for a family / friend gathering and to explore E Yorkshire! The house was nice and modern, extremely well equipt and a good size for 3 families. Even though it was laid out on 3 floors, it was also perfectly safe for my 2 year and 3 year old nieces as there were stair gates set up on the stairs to the bedrooms. They also provided a good supply of plastic cups, plates and bowls for them to use. The owners were very helpful and gave me a list of child friendly places to eat out. They even left a nice bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates, which were very much appreciated and enjoyed. The location was also perfect, just a short stroll into the beautiful historic town and about 5 minute quick walk to the Co Op supermarket. 10 - 15 minute walk to Sainsburys. I can not fault the property or the generosity & helpfulness of the owners. I would happily recommend this property to anyone and will most likely book again in the summer.
