Log cabin holiday accommodation in a peaceful setting

’Fram Park’ log cabins (refs 14896, 18741, 23876, 23877 and 26112) are ideally situated for exploring the ancient region of Northumbria. Less than 30 miles from the Scottish Borders and 10 miles from the coast where there are long stretches of golden sands - home to the quietest beaches in Britain. This is a region free from the hustle and bustle of the commercial holiday. Inland you will find ancient ruins, romantic castles, country houses and the scenic beauty of the National Park, with fishing and riding close by. No trip to Northumbria is complete without a day trip to Lindisfarne (Holy Island), which can be reached at low tide, with its fairy tale castle and medieval connections. Why not take a boat trip to the Farne Islands to visit the basking seals. Alternatively visit the historic market town of Alnwick and take a day or two to admire the Duchess’s beautiful ornamental gardens, and Alnwick Castle, made famous by ’Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films. Thoughtfully planned, these picturesque and cosy cabins capture the country holiday feeling whilst providing the comforts of home. Shops and pubs 1/2 mile.

Lovely cosy cabin set in scenic location. Handy for visits to NT Cragside - a must see, Alnwick Castle and Garden and Northumbria National Park. Recommended for a peaceful stay away from noise and traffic.

The area was well placed for travel around Northumberland but the site was disappointing, we expected more space around the cabin and we not have the outlook that was shown for Harbottle as shown in the literature. The cabin was warm and dry but the furnishings were tired and dated unlike others we have stayed in.

Oven dirty, settee and carpet stained. Kitchen taps reported stiff in 2013 in housebook only moveable with effort. Location and general comfort fine, spoilt by neglect.

I did not like the area. Eating out was not very good. The nearest town was 11 miles away and the local pub was not good

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your holiday. Yes we are set in a quiet rural location; a lot of people choose Harbottle for peace and quiet, and to be central in Northumberland for sightseeing. We have 2 local pubs in Longframlington, one of which, The Village Inn is an award winning community pub, sorry that you didn't enjoy this either, they always get great reviews. I can only recommend in future that you check out the locality of your cottage on a map before confirming a booking.
