For a pet friendly holiday it was difficult as the garden was not enclosed. The bungalow could do with updating.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Pets are welcome at this property but guests will find many country cottages do not have enclosed gardens. Enquiries before booking for enclosed pet proof gardens should be made.

Great little bungalow in a quiet village, well located to access much of the Peak District and Ashbourne was a short drive away. The house was heated well (all left on upon arrival which was very much appreciated on a chilly day!) and the kitchen was well stocked with all that you need for self catering. The garden is a great size with a fantastic view across the fields of the farm. It isn't enclosed which meant that the dogs needed close supervision out there, but thankfully it's a very quiet village, so there were few distractions for either of them to venture beyond the garden. Kids had a great time running in the garden too. Some of the furnishings would benefit from a little updating, but all in all a great base for a holiday in the Peak District and what you would expect from a 3 star property.

Ufortunately this was nowhere near the standard we have enjoyed in the past.

The cottage was cold with only storage heaters that were old. The bathroom was freezing and we left early as the thought of using the bathroom for a shower etc were off putting. I came away with a sore throat and a cold. The scenery was great though and very rewarding.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The heating is all electric with storage heaters in full and some are new, working order. There is supplementary electric heating also. The bathroom also has heating. The guests did not contact the Owners which would have enabled us to check the efficiency of the heat supply. Guests are asked to contact the Owner should any problems or queries occur prior to their stay. Colds and sore throats are a caused by a virus.
