This Cottage is brought to you by:

In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

On the Marlborough Downs, this lovely cottage is close to the Ridgeway Trail, and Hungerford and Newbury are easily reached.

This holiday cottage is set in Aldbourne, the ‘picture postcard’ village in a valley on the Marlborough Downs, 6 miles north east of Marlborough, and is part of the North Wessex Downs (AONB). An episode of ‘Dr Who’ was filmed here and ‘Easy Company’ was based here during the war. Marlborough, Hungerford and Newbury are within a short drive. The Ridgeway Trail lies on the village boundary as do many footpaths and bridleways. Many visitors come to Wiltshire to see the crop circles and the chalk white horses on the hillsides. Avebury is famous for its stone circle which is larger and older than Stonehenge. Only 10 minutes from the M4 allows easy access to the city of Bath and the Cotswolds. Shop, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with single sofa bed (for alternative sleeping). Dining room/kitchen. First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower attachment and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Washing machine. On road parking. Welcome pack. No smoking.

The local youth clubs meeting place and pool table was directly outside lounge window and had to keep window and blind closed all of the time. Also the neighbours parked there cars awkwardly so we couldnt park outside and blocked my van in at one time.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Hales Cottage’s income goes towards providing youth services within the village of Aldbourne. The after school café runs from 4-6pm Monday – Friday, and the centre is closed after 8pm on Wednesdays and 8:30pm on Fridays. The Cottage is situated in the heart of the village where there is plenty of free parking but we are sorry you had difficulties with one of the neighbours. This is the first time we have been made aware of any parking concerns in the last 3 years.

Brilliant little cottage in a vibrant village with good access to other local towns and villages. We are a short couple and very much enjoyed having everything at a low height, but obviously if you've 6 foot you might have to crouch occasionally.

Ideal for single person occupancy and that is rare. Perfectly suitable for my purposes. It offers a great base, warm and suitably comfortable if you are out and about and want a good base. The dog loved it, and I didn't mind going out onto the street in my pyjamas first thing so she could relieve herself - that was its only downside from my perspective.
