Picture perfect views. We felt the cabin needed a little love, attention a working fridge , bath and hand towels and a cleaner, but all in all we had chosen to stay here simply as a base. We were told a new fridge was on order , therefore should already be in place. Great base to explore the local area, kielder water, hareshaw linn waterfall, the heritage centre in Bellingham, Alnwick castle and gardens, Barter books Alnwick, hadrians wall etc. the Calvert Trust at Kielder water offers high role sessions etc to non residents give them a call. Well worth a try. Left feeling relaxed, which after all is what a holiday is about.

We found the location great for walking and visiting Kielder, Hadrian's Wall and local National Trust properties and attractions. The east coast with its beaches and castles was a day trip, but brilliant for the dogs. The lodge is on the edge of the working farmyard and the livestock, including lambs and chickens were on the doorstep. Beware owners of young or excitable dogs as there is no outside space fenced off. The area to the rear of the lodge is open moorland. Very scenic and handy for evening walks. We had a lovely holiday.
