Wales Cottages

The Wales Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Wales better!

Traditional Welsh listed property only 3 miles from Harlech, famous for its castle, golf course and 10 mile expanse of sandy beach.

This fabulous, traditional, Welsh listed building nestles against the hillside opposite the banks of the River Artro, which flows majestically down from Cwm Bychan. In under a minute you can be walking across a pretty bridge over the water and wending your way along pathways to the little village of Llanbedr, which boasts both a pub and a hotel - plenty of choice for a nice meal out. A warm welcome awaits you at Gwynfryn House with log fires and plenty of room to accommodate a large party of friends or family. The property has been tastefully decorated retaining much of its original character, such as the servant bells in the dining room, cleverly combined with modern conveniences. The downstairs layout is on slightly different levels of a step or two giving a unique feel to this glorious holiday house. The  lounge entices you to snuggle into its comfy leather sofas and relax completely. The combination of dark wood panelling and tall windows bring a sense of calm to the soul and the piece de resistance is the superb large fireplace. Cooking should be a delight in the recently fitted kitchen where you may choose to have breakfast in the morning and a more formal dinner in the attractive dining room in the evening. The ambience in here, along with the log burner housed in the fireplace, will make it very difficult to move from the table!  With so much to see and do in the local area, Gwynfryn House is the perfect base from which to explore beautiful North Wales

We spent an enjoyable week here at the end of July. We were greeted by the owner who was friendly and had left a couple of gifts that were greatly appreciated and to help us settle in. As others have said, this property is very quirky with just about every room on a different level and two staircases. With 11 of us there you never knew who you were going to bump into and where.

The cottage was very nice and a bit quirky. The location was excellent and the village is beautiful. It was very well equipped. The only downside was the cleanliness. It was top clean only. The kitchen back splashes and cupboard fronts were dusty and greasy. There was dust on all the skirting boards and picture frames etc.

We are a family of 10 ranging from 7-81 and had a wonderful week at Gwynfryn House this Easter. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner and by the house itself. It was very well equipped, comfortable and well located for what we wanted to do in the area. We also especially enjoyed the unexpected work out! as from entering the house every room but one involves going up or down steps. With two stair cases up to the second floor the children thoroughly enjoyed games of hide and seek while the older members laughed at the confusion of which floor they were on and trying to agree the number of steps in total. The house reminded me of an Escher painting especially when I left the kitchen on the ground floor, walked through the garden and came back into the house on the third floor! A lovely holiday to remember and one we would definitely recommend and hope to revisit.
