Breathtaking views

These four fine detached holiday properties with breathtaking views over Cardigan Bay, are furnished to a very good standard and are just 100 yards from the cliff top. Gwbert-on-Sea is a small, quiet hamlet on the eastern shore of the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, just a couple of miles outside Cardigan. The settlement takes its name from a wandering saint. St Gwbert is said to have landed here and sheltered in a cave. The shoreline is marked by rugged cliffs and small shingle bays, with large stretches of sandbank exposed at low tide, and the area gives superb views over a diverse and scenic landscape. The ancient oak woodland of the Teifi Valley, the tidal marshes of the estuary, and the boundary of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park can all be appreciated from here. The 18-hole golf course, the home of Cardigan Golf Club, also offers fine views of the estuary and sea, and from the headland you can look across to Cardigan Island. The mud and sand flats of the estuary attracts a great variety of birds. In the autumn such waders as the redshank, oystercatcher and curlew can be seen feeding here, along with several species of migrating duck. The headland of Craig y Gwbert is the site of an Iron Age Fort. Pieces of pottery have also been found near Gwbert, and are now on display in Cardigan museum. Shops 31/2 miles, pub 100 yards.

Absolutely lovely accommodation. Hot tub was brilliant and nearby views are spectacular. Could have done with extra tea towels and bin bags but that's the only negative. Would 100% stay here again and recommend

Lovely bungalow, well equipped kitchen and a limited but lovely view, some cleanliness issues cobwebs in pretty much every room, dirty plates & cutlery from old guest & broken glass on the patio around the hot tub that we got stuck in my partners foot even though the rules are to not use glass out there. Overall great short break wouldn't stay longer than 3-4 nights as there's limited things to do & places to go.

Cottage is fitted to the highest of standards, no expense spared. Plenty of room for 8 people and well equipped for us all too. Only downside was the lack of slip matt by the hottub steps, as a member of our party slipped getting out and seriously hurt her leg. Didn't detract from the fabulous holiday but something to think about. Also the hotel restaurant is fabulous and the team there were friendly and consistently went out of their way for us. Will be going back again in summer.

We spent a wonderful extended weekend at Gwynt Y Mor in October, we could not fault a thing and will most definitely book again, it exceeded our expectations and was home from home.

Notwithstanding the assurances that we were given after our visit last year, when all our party found the beds too firm and uncomfortable, that the beds would be changed upon the refurbishment of the cottage, they remain much the same. The staff were very helpful by providing additional duvets to place over the mattresses, but this did not solve the problems completely. None of the beds had mattress protectors which is incredible as the cottage is maintained by the owner of the adjacent hotel. Even after the refurbishment, there are areas that require careful attention to detail. Overall, the cottage suits our family party very well. It is just hoped that the problems that we have experienced will be resolved before our future visits.

It was nice to see the sea from the property. The outside of the property could do with a bit of a tidy up and the out door seating could have been cleaned before our arrival as they were dirty and unable to sit on them. The main bathroom shower was poor we could not get hot water, we had to use the bathroom the far end of the bungalow. The property just needed a general paint inside and out. It was great to have the washing machine and tumble dryer as with a young family we did not need to pack so many clothes.
