Description

In a peaceful location, this property is perfect for a family holiday with activities for all ages in the area.

Wonderful scenic sea and mountain views

This detached cottage is well located for touring the stunning north west, the picturesque north east, the wild north, as well as Inverness and Loch Ness, for monster spotting. The Isle of Skye and the Orkney Islands can be visited in a day. It is situated facing Dornoch Firth and the hills beyond, in a peaceful location overlooking the village of Ardgay and the Kyle of Sutherland. It has a good sized enclosed garden with open farmland and woodland to one side where, on occasions, deer have been spotted. The marine, bird and wildlife are notably interesting. Spot dolphin, red kite, otters and seals in Cromarty, and visit an RSPB reserve in Caithness. Red, roe and sika deer, eagles and red squirrels, and a historic church can be seen up in the glen at nearby Croick. There are poignant memories of the Highland Clearances on the windows where the crofters took refuge. Activities around Ardgay include mountain biking, kayaking, horse riding, salmon, trout and sea fishing. There is a picturesque golf course at Bonar Bridge as well as excellent golf courses, including the internationally renowned championship course at Dornoch, nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming on our arrival. Thank you for the welcome pack and the toiletries pack in the bedrooms was an added bonus that we have not had before having stayed in many cottages over the years. The garden is large and secure and was ideal for our dogs to "play" outside without fear they may go off and explore the area on their own !! We would most definitely recommend this cottage to our friends and family and would return without hesitation. Jon & Hazel

A lovely place to stay. The cottage is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and very peaceful. Absolutely everything you could need is already provided - every imaginable piece of kitchen equipment is available, spare linen, clean towels, plenty of toilet rolls etc. The cottage was spotlessly clean and a lovely welcome pack, including biscuits, jam, wine and pint of milk, was left for us. The owner kindly allowed us to bring our 3 dogs at no charge; they loved the garden which was fully enclosed. We would definitely return for another stay.

Good location and cottage had all you needed . The only thing that let the cottage down was the shower room, there were brown water marks all down the walls and also the couches in living room could do with a good clean, saying this it didn't spoil the holiday at all

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. I am aware of the water marks in the shower room due to a very wet and windy winter resulting in roof tiles blowing away. The roof had been repaired, however the shower room is due to be repainted in the next 2 weeks whilst the cottage has no visitors. The sofa and chairs will also be cleaned then. This is done annually along with cleaning all the carpets. I am so sorry that this was not done before your arrival.
