Good location for the village, pubs and the wedding venue Upper House but very dark inside especially for reading.

A delightful old fashioned cottage in a beautiful Peak District village. A good kitchen, a large living room and some charming bedrooms in this old school house in which you can almost smell the history. Great position for walking straight out onto Kinder Scout. We ate out on the decking terrace overlooking a steep garden down the valley and popped out to the local pubs for supper. Highly recommended for a traditional Peak District stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Grey Beck. It was convenient for both the village, and all the local walks. The house was well equipped and comfortable, and we had a lovely barbecue on the terrace. Thanks to Phillippa for returning the things my daughter left behind.

What a fantastic cottage, wonderful location. Spotless. The pictures do not do this cottage the full justice it truely deserves. It was like being home from home. The bottle of wine and milk, tea and coffee left by the owner was a nice thought and much appreciated. I would highly recommend, and most definately will be returning. The village of Hayfield is delightful. We sampled all the local ameneties and would recommend them all. (Royal Hotel, George Hotel and The Roundhouse).
