You can drink in the view from the first floor living space at this contemporary property, which lies 5 miles from Cockermouth.

Greengill Farm Holiday Cottage is a beautiful, semi-detached barn conversion set on a working beef and arable farm, close to the traditional village of Gilcrux on the fringes of the Lake District National Park. It has been thoughtfully designed, with each ground floor bedroom having a walk-in shower room, and the living, dining and kitchen area being located on the first floor. The property is beautifully presented and makes a comfortable base to return to after a day exploring the region. There is also the benefit of a private hot tub, which you can sink into with a glass of bubbly!
Gilcrux, 1 mile, can be reached along a quiet country lane, and you can take a pleasant evening stroll there in summer for a meal or drink in the village pub or bistro.
Ideally located, Greengill Farm Holiday Cottage is well placed for exploring the highlights of both the northern and western Lakes. The traditional market town of Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, and the bustling lakeside town of Keswick both have a wide selection of attractions and are within a 20-minute drive of Greengill Farm Holiday Cottage. An amazing holiday cottage with all the little touches you could ask for. It was a perfect family getaway with little luxuries that made it feel special for Mum and Dad when our little one was in bed. Can't recommend enough. Brilliant!

Not knowing what to expect on arrival we were thrilled with the accommodation at Green Gill Farm. Emma & Dave were the perfect hosts and made us so welcome. The hot tub was treated every day and was used all the time by the family. The accommodation was fantastic and practical. Ideal for visiting local tourist locations. Did not want to go home. Tony

So glad we found this lovely cottage. We traveled as a family of six to celebrate our daughter's birthday and have some quality time together. The cottage is beautiful and has a very high end finish, from the cooking trays to furnishings it is well equipped for everything you will need with a few personal touches making it feel like home. Welcome basket with tea, coffee, sugar cinder toffee etc was a lovely touch. Beds are extremely comfortable with quality pillows and bedding. The whole cottage is spacious and light and has a luxurious feel. Outside there is lovely a hot tub ( towels provided) and as the weather turned out much better than expected , we gave David a call and he brought around a BBQ and patio furniture again all of excellent quality. Host was excellent ,nothing was too much trouble. Genuine good old fashioned hospitality , this was greatly appreciated and enhanced our experience.... thank you so much. We didn't get the chance to meet Emma as she was away but we did have the pleasure of chatting with a lovely gentleman ( sorry we didn't catch his name ) and we had a fab conversation about our home town , of which he was familiar with in days gone by....... such a small world! All in all we had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend on all counts ...... hoping to return in the not so distant future. Thank you once again for allowing us to spend a lovely family break at your cottage .
