Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

This thatched, beamed holiday property stands detached, and enjoys a lovely cottage garden.

This thatched detached cottage is peacefully situated at the end of a no through lane, in a small village midway between Devizes and Salisbury. The cottage is full of character, with beams, a large inglenook fireplace and cottage kitchen. The garden is a delight, with a patio area and steps up to another seating area overlooking the fields. There is also a summerhouse in the corner from which to enjoy watching the visiting birdlife. There are footpaths from the door onto Salisbury Plain, and the area is ideal for cyclists. Devizes is a historic market town with a colourful medieval past. The town enjoys a rich heritage of fine Georgian houses and a 19th century castle built on the site of a Norman stronghold. Wadworth’s celebrated brewery remains in its original town location and their brewer’s dray drawn by mighty Shire Horses is a regular and much-loved sight on the streets. One of the UK’s most iconic canals, the Kennet & Avon Canal, passes through Devizes and the famous flight of 29 locks are easily accessible on foot. Salisbury is known as the city in the countryside, and named by Lonely Planet as one of the world’s top 10 cities to visit in 2015. With timbered buildings, an Early English Gothic Cathedral home to the famous Magna Carta, a thriving market, a buzzing arts scene, museums and some of England’s finest historic houses, there are many things waiting to be explored. Other nearby attractions to visit include the stone circles at Stonehenge (2 miles) and Avebury, Lacock, Marlborough and the city of Bath, as well as Longleat and Stourhead. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with beams (some low). Kitchen. Utility room. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Separate toilet. Steep, narrow stairs to first floor: 2 double (5ft) bedrooms.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed, lawned garden with patio, summerhouse, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. Please note: No children under 12 years.

The cottage is lovely and very well equipped. The location is peaceful and just right for a quiet rest. The garden is very private. We are going back in May so we can see the garden in spring. A good bottle of red on arrival was most welcome! Thank you for a lovely break.

We had a lovely few days in this well-equipped cottage. It was lovely and clean, had a large farmhouse table for us all to eat round and a lovely modern bathroom, the extra loo by the door was a bonus and the utility room was great for storing boots and coats, we'd definitely stay again, kitchen was stocked better than my own and the welcome pack was a lovely thoughtful touch.

A beautiful cottage in a very private setting. Everything you would need and a delight to stay. Only issue is the steps and stairs are not suitable for the elderly or anyone with mobility issues this should be made more of in the description. But it didn't cause too much of a problem for our stay.

Lovely old thatched cottage, only yards away from beautiful walks on Salisbury Plain. Very well kept garden with various places to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Nice thoughtful welcoming package for both ourselves and the dogs although we were not there long enough to enjoy it all. There was lots of information about walks and interesting places to go nearby including pubs and places to eat. We drove a short distance to nearby Devises, Caen Locks and a canal side pub where fantastic crop circles appear every year. Overall a very relaxing and interesting long weekend.

The cottage was everything we wanted and more - it was one of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in. Many thoughtful extras were provided, not just for us, but our dog too! We found Green Willows to be very clean, comfortable with a warm and welcoming feel to it. Location wise, it was ideal for where we had planned to visit during our stay ( Bath, Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door, Avebury.) I particularly loved waking up to bird song each morning and watching them feed, along with the squirrels, in the garden. An added bonus was the walks from the doorstep. To conclude, we would highly recommend staying here- from start to finish, Geraldine, the housekeeper, ensured we had a wonderful stress free time, from texting alternative directions to avoid traffic queues to ensuring our stay was clean and comfortable. Thank you so much!

Great holiday cottage, amazing garden which isn't given justice with the pics online. Owners fantastic with communication and lovely welcome gifts. Loads of info packed in the house with local things to do, great location for dog walks. Thoroughly recommend.
