Description

Visit all that Cornwall has to offer from this Grade II listed property, which is ideal for a small family.

Green Man Cottage is the perfect holiday retreat, ideal for couples or a small family. This charming Grade II listed, semi-detached property includes some original period features, and is believed to be one of the oldest cottages in the village of Mousehole. The cottage has been sympathetically updated and is located in central position just yards from the harbour, beach and main village amenities. Mousehole has a quaint, picturesque harbour with two small fine sand beaches and winding streets hiding a delight of craft and curiosity shops. The area has some outstanding coastal walks and nearby Newlyn is famous for its fish market and art galleries. This is a perfect base from which to explore West and South Cornwall, with easy access to Land’s End and the beautiful Sennen Cove, popular with surfers and sun worshippers. Visit Lamorna Cove and Porthcurno, with the Minack Theatre cut in to the rock face overlooking the ocean. The historic town of Marazion is just a short drive with St Michaels Mount rising from the sea like a fairytale castle. The mount can be reached on foot at low tide or by small boat at high tide. The busy town and harbour at Penzance provides a great range of shops, bars and cafés and has a long promenade with an open air lido. It is possible to walk all the way from Mousehole to Penzance via Newlyn along the coast. There is a daily ferry service from Penzance to the beautiful Isles of Scilly or regular small aircraft service from Land’s End airport. Take the scenic coastal train from St Erth to St Ives, passing the Hayle Estuary and some of Cornwall’s finest beaches. St Ives is a hub for artists and is the home of the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum. Beach 75 yards. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Steep stairs with limited handrail. One downstairs toilet some distance from bedrooms. Dark interior with over-bright lighting. So-called wet room - slippery, no grab rails, black mildew in wet tray.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The description of the property is very accurate and the photos are a good illustration of the Cottage. The details clearly state that there is a step to the wet room (with shower and toilet), and that there are steep, narrow stairs to the first floor. They are not particularly steep for what is a very old cottage and like any steps made of any material, they need to be navigated with some attention.

The cottage was in a great location. Had everything you needed. No parking but can park in the public car park for £2 or £3 for 24 hours price drops from 1st November. Maybe busy in the summer months. Great pub within a two minute walk served grear food. Would recommend a stay here
