Green Farm is a very old building, and very spacious. It is well suited to a large group of family and friends. The kitchen and dinning room are excellent in terms of space and standard of equipment and furniture. And the enclosed garden very pretty and well maintained ( though garden furniture could do with some attention). Excellent utility areas with washing machine and dryer, good space for dogs sleeping area closed off from the rest of the house at night. However in our view much of the rest of the house and rooms are not really worthy of the 4 star rating this property is badged.Bathrooms are not really satisfactory for the 4 star rating or for 10 people when the house is full - as it was with our party. One very nice en suite, one very dated and difficult to use ensuit, and another bathroom with just a bath- looks very nice on photo, but not very practical to use. The house is adjacent to the former farm yard, which looks in a state of advanced dereliction. We actually had a very nice holiday here with a group of 2 families, but we all felt the standard of house did not justify the top end price we paid, compared to other large holiday properties we have hired. There were no extras provided- guest soap, toilet roll etc and no welcome pack which the website mentioned ( only noticed that after holiday so could not mention it to owners at time). Anyway moving on to the location: it's a bit difficult to describe. Green Farm sits in splendid isolation is at the end of a very long private farm track , crossing 2 cattle grids. So if you're looking for peace and quite it is perfect. The local village is a mile away, pretty church but no shop. You can walk for 20 mins and get to the local Toby Inn, but no tradition pubs within walking distance. Walking out from the house was sometimes difficult in that all the fields, including the one the access lane passes through, have bullocks grazing. They can be quite intimidating as they are very inquisitive. The house book does give advice on walking through these fields and how to behave if the cows become interested in you- but we've did have difficulty passing the bullocks on couple of occasions. If you are going out for the day, there are many lovely places to drive to and explore- Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester, and several National Trust areas. Chedworth Roman Villa is not to be missed. Tesco deliver to the property, to you can easily get stocked up with groceries. I hope I've not been too negative, but I do want to portray an accurate account. If we have paid 3/4 of what we did pay for 1 week at Green Farm we would have been delighted. However as I say above we think it over rated in terms of stars, and over priced in its current state of maintenance.

We stayed in May 2017 for my Mum's 70th birthday. 6 of us plus a toddler slept in the house and we had 4 guests for a dinner party on the Saturday night. The house works well for a gathering of friends and there is plenty of space for hosting a gathering. The house has breakout spaces due to its rambling nature so there is the opportunity to find privacy very easily. I would think that the house might be better to rent in summer rather than winter and others (but no problem for us) might appreciate a better kept garden. We could not turn down the landing radiator and a better dust pan and brush might be easy wins. Lucy was very helpful and friendly in making the booking and her recommendation of Vicky Hughes of Green Fig catering was spot on.

Lovely stay, quiet location 10 minute drive to shop. Lots of great walking on doorstep but watch the cows they are very friendly?! Very well equipped with great spaces to retreat to and relax. Would book again. Great space for pets too.

Green Farm was a beautiful venue for our 50th Birthday party. There were 10 of us and the house felt so roomy, and we didn't feel like we were all on top of eachother. The kitchen made catering easy and the dining room was perfect to sit us all around the table and eat comfortably. House felt so cosy and warm, we all had the most wonderful time.

Fantastic house for a family gathering, will be looking for an "excuse" to go there again. The location is quite rural, some might not like that, but we loved it.

We had a great time. The boiler had broken on our arrival day, but the owners were more than helpful, to rectify this. Our only comment is the need to update the bathrooms, 3 decent showers are needed rather than one.
