Customers’ Choice Award 2016, 2017 & 2018
Grapevine is situated within the charming village of Branscombe and is perfect for a family holiday or keen walkers.

Nestling in a unique valley which follows the stream as it meanders down to the sea on east Devon’s renowned Jurrassic Coast, this end terrace holiday cottage is set in one of England’s most picturesque villages, Branscombe, where acres of National Trust land provide miles of tranquil walking with truly stunning countryside and coastal views. Branscombe’s charming thatched cottages, working forge and restored water mill add to the timeless magic of the place. Grapevine is an ideal holiday location for families, friends or couples, and is great for those who love cycling or kayaking as the property offers cycle and kayak storage. It has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard, still maintaining its charm with beams and inglenook fireplace with woodburner, making this an ideal cottage all year round. Deer, badger, fox and birds of prey can all be spotted from this south-facing cottage which overlooks the field and woodland beyond.
There are also beach towels, a hairdryer, adult bathrobes and toiletries provided. The beach just over a mile away boasts a thatched café serving breakfast baps on the beach and fresh crab sandwiches. An easy graded trail winds-up from the beach to the village pub with a restaurant or continue on passing Manor Mill, a tea room and the working forge. For the more adventurous, join the South West Coastal Path, discovering the dramatic cliff formations and the steep green valleys, wander around the delightful fishing village of Beer, once a notorious smuggling centre, now famous for its caves, or the lovely seaside town of Sidmouth with it’s beautiful gardens. Visitor attractions close by include many National Trust properties, golf, horse riding, The Donkey Sanctuary, Crealy Adventure Park, and for those who enjoy the bright lights and the city shopping experience, Exeter, with its cathedral and the famous Northcott Theatre is 20 miles away. Had a wonderful time at Grapevine, perfectly located near the South West Coast Path. The cottage itself is fantastic; wood burning stove, well equipped kitchen, underfloor heating in the bathroom and very comfortable beds! Thanks also to Jo for welcoming us and leaving scones and wine. We had to leave a day early to avoid being snowed in, but fully intend to return in better weather!

The cottage was delightful. We had a lovely stay Jo the owner, was there to meet us and went through everything. Fresh Flowers, Fruit, bottle of wine and chocolates were lovely touches, the cottage was decorated for christmas which was also a nice touch. The cottage was cosy and warm and log burner was great. We had a great holiday in a lovely part of the UK. Thank you

We had a fabulous stay at Grapevine and would happily return. Comfortable beds, cosy and warm and spotlessly clean. Views and walks from the doorstep, we loved it all. Thank you

A fabulous cottage in which to stay. I really do not think accommodation could be better than this for what we paid. Location wise it was frustrating there was no shop to buy so much as a newspaper. The very narrow lanes also deterred us from using the car as much as we would have liked. Having said that we did use the local bus service, limited as it was, and it was very convenient to step outside and just flag the bus down, and to get dropped off right outside the cottage on our return. To sum up, a very enjoyable week but my word it showed how fortunate we are to live in Greater Manchester with all the fabulous amenities we have on our doorstep.

What a fabulous gem nestled in such a lovely setting as Branscombe. The cottage is fantastic and so clean. It is very well equipped ( really good quality stuff not things that had seen better days- beds great- bathroom excellent with plentiful hot water) and their are lovely touches throughout. Jo was great meeting us on arrival and showing how things worked. It was a lovely and restful break. Lots of good walks and plenty of things to see in the surrounding area. Be careful going along the roads as very narrow but no problem- just be aware around blind corners. Recommend you bring slippers to keep the carpets immaculate, rather than padding around in socks or bare feet. Good Waitrose in Sidmouth to do shopping in.

The only thing missing is a local shop.
