Originally the granary at Grove Farm, now lovingly restored it features a beautiful garden to enjoy. Set on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Lake Windermere is just 15 minutes’ drive - popular for water sports. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room with patio doors and beams. Kitchen. Tiled floors throughout. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet (can be accessed from landing), 1 twin.

    We had an awesome holiday at Granary Cottage. Cottage very light airy and spacious surrounded by stunning views. A very peaceful location. This cottage suited all our requirements. The owners were very friendly and helpful and were on hand should we have needed anything. Although it is in a fairly remote spot it is only minutes from major road links. We both loved it.

    Whilst the accommodation is located only 5 mins from the main A590 it is incredibly peaceful and quiet. Its location is brilliant for the South Lakes being only 10 mins from the likes of Grange over Sands and Cartmel and about 20 mins from Bowness and Windermere. So many places to see, walks that can be taken right from the front door and for the more adventurous Scafell Pike was about 1hr 15 mins. Loads of leaflets of things to do at the house as well which was really helpful. Accommodation was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The only tiny thing that could be improved upon would be that there was only 1 washing machine tablet, 2 dishwasher tablets, 1 piece of tin foil etc. When you are away for a week the last thing you want is to have to take things like this with you so a few more would have been helpful. Overall though a great property, great location and would recommend strongly.

    Super accommodation, comfortable and well-equipped. Bit of a bumpy track down to the farm but the peace and quiet and the wonderful views made it all worthwhile. We were sorry not to meet the owners but maybe they were too busy as it is a working farm. The only drawback is the lack of any form of telephone and we had no mobile signal so it would have been difficult to deal with an emergency or even contact the owners if something had gone wrong.

    An excellent cottage, with top class layout and fittings. In a beautiful, peaceful setting. Close to mountains, lakes and coast for a most enjoyable holiday.

    We were mostly happy with this cottage apart from the fact that we were only supplied with one dishwasher tablet and when we asked for more (on the second day) as we intended to eat in every night we were only given one extra and the owner said that the cleaner hadn't informed them that they needed more and they'd done the shopping for that week. Again later in the week we asked for another but were told no. We feel that if a property advertises a dishwasher they should provide dishwasher tablets. Wi-fi would be an advantage too. Fitted sheet would not stay on bed as mattress protector made of a slippery material. Welcome pack consisted of tea bags, coffee, sugar and a pint of milk plus newspaper - we were expecting a little bit more.

    We had a most enjoyable and relaxing break at Granary Cottage. The cottage was comfortable and of a high standard. The surrounding area was very pleasant with the added bonus of well kept farm animals nearby. A car is essential for this cottage. Would certainly recommend.
