Ideal for a romantic get away at any time of year with a roll top bath and cosy fire, you won’t want to leave.

Granary Cottage is an annexe built adjoining the owner’s 18th century stone barn conversion. It has been finished to a good standard, providing an ideal holiday retreat with a roll top bath and electric coal effect fire for those cosy winter evenings. Set in the hamlet of Nottington, between Dorchester and Weymouth, it is surrounded by the unspoilt Dorset coastline and countryside. Bustling Weymouth is a short drive away with shops, restaurants and sandy beach and a little further are Portland, Chesil, Abbotsbury, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Isle of Purbeck. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors/dining area/kitchen. Utility room (owner has own access). First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine and tumble dryer in shared utility. Shared use of owner’s freezer on request. Large shared garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking. Had a lovely stay at Granary Cottage. The equipment etc was over and above what we expected, kitchen roll, toilet roll, hand wash and washing up liquid provided. We loved the quirky cottage style and the bathroom was beautiful. I couldn't get enough of the bath. Our only criticism was a couple of cleanliness issues, mainly dust and cobwebs and plenty of bugs. The location was excellent as we wanted a little bit of peace and quiet but also to be near somewhere bustling.

Peaceful location but not far from Weymouth. Owner very helpful. Property clean and tidy but could benefit from updating.

A lovely cottage in a quiet location 5 mins drive (or 15mins cycle) from Weymouth. The cottage is small, but very well equipped including a quality bathroom. Located in a small village on the edge of Weymouth, it does have a busy road around the garden but nothing to worry about. If there is a downside it is that the village has no amenities (no pub, restaurant or shop!), so you will have to drive or cycle if you want them. Overall, I would recommend the cottage and the very helpful owner unreservedly.

An absolutely lovely little cottage, perfect for a couple looking for a break away from things. My partner and I wanted somewhere we could just relax, and Granary Cottage provided just that. The owner is extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with, and easily contacted as well. We had a restaurant that we wanted to look into going to, but had been unable to reach them. The owner kindly provided us with some alternative recommendations and knew the area very well. Normally there is a brilliant bus route near to the cottage, however during our stay this had been redirected due to gas works. It wasn't too far to walk to the next bus stop however, and the supermarkets were about a mile away. This is definitely a place for either people with a car, or people who are willing to walk and use public transport, but it's extremely pleasant to be here. We would definitely consider coming back to this cottage.
