We very much enjoyed our stay at Grafton Grove. We loved being in the country side with the wild life and the horses. The area is very beautiful and there is lots to see and do. With regard to equipment if you are offering towels etc. invest in a few new ones those supplied were a bit old ! a small welcome pack is usual these days just to get you settled in. All in all a very comfortable and roomy house.

The cottage was large and spacious. The area was perfect for the dog. The beds were uncomfortable and the lighting in the property was very poor and no outside lighting to access patio/field. However we all enjoyed our holiday.

This was a large and comfortable house; well equipped and very clean. In terms of value for money it was excellent - but this was probably because of the location, which really was the middle of nowhere. Although the house itself was good, there were some downsides. In particular the complete lack of a welcome or introduction to the owners. When we arrived a lady on horseback told us that the house was open - and indeed it was, once we had found it. There was no welcome pack with useful information such as nearest pub, shop, good walks etc - and the brochures claim to be within walking distance of a pub was completely untrue according to a local dog walker who laughed at us when we said we were walking to the pub. The electrics cut out frequently, plunging one of our party into total darkness in the middle of a shower in the en-suite. The boiler failed completely and all of us had an ice cold shower that morning. IF we had been given a name, contact number or had any clue where the owners lived we could have done something .... but sadly this was not the case. After a couple of hours of fiddling we worked out how to re-start the boiler ourselves. For me, a warm welcome and an introduction to the property is essential. I got the impression that the house was a sideline to the stables that nobody really wanted to take responsibility for.

We had a great weekend, fantastic weather and really enjoyed the cottage! Lots of space, a nice layout and lovely eat-in kitchen. Horses on the doorstep were lovely to wake up to. There weren't enough or sharp enough knives for preparing vegetables and tablets for the dishwasher would have been nice, but in both cases we have come to expect this of rental cottages and supply our own.
