Lakeside, seaside, countryside, hillside...wherever you can picture your perfect cottage, you'll find it with Welcome Cottages!

Description

Treat your loved one to this stylish cottage and admire the wildlife or snuggle up by the wood burner on an evening.

With wonderful views over Dartmoor and situated within South Devon countryside, this stunning complex of barn conversions (Refs HHHX and HHHW) was once part of the Stover Estate. Converted in early 2008 in a contemporary style and equipped to a high standard, with the addition of modern day comforts, they make the perfect place for couples, families and larger parties wishing to holiday together.
They offer wonderful all year round accommodation, with each cottage boasting its own patio area, with garden furniture and barbecue. Once a working farm and an old miniature railway site, Gorse Blossom Farm has some 40 acres, where guests can wander around at their leisure and which offers a haven for wildlife, including birds of prey, badgers and the lesser horseshoe bat, which has made its home here. An all weather surface tennis court will keep children and adults entertained.
Being close to the A38 makes this the perfect place from which to explore South Devon, Torquay (with its sandy beaches, 12 miles) and Plymouth, 25 miles (to see the Hoe, the Barbican, the National Marine Aquarium which is ideal for children and adults). The Eden Project (approximately
1½ hours drive) is a fabulous day out. Crealy Adventure Park is 20 miles. Exeter has a magnificent cathedral and quay, whilst a boat trip can be taken up the river to two stunning pubs. There are many villages to explore and stop off for a Devon cream tea. Dartmoor is on the doorstep, with its stunning scenery and heather clad rocky tors and ponies, and is a walkers’ paradise at any time of year, with Becky Falls (rocks and waterfalls), 8 miles. Paignton not only has more sandy beaches, but also a famous zoo.
Visit the South Hams, taking in Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Go the other direction and take in the Jurassic Coast, or visit Beer, Branscombe and Seaton to take a ride on the Seaton Tramway. There is so much to see and do that visitors will have to keep coming back year after year to take it all in. Shop 500 yards, pub ½ mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Microwave. Fridge/freezer. Parking (1 car).

The cottage is in a very good location to visit the moors and coastal towns. We enjoyed our short stay. Pity about the weather! The hot water in the kitchen should come with a health warning!

Warm welcome with cream tea. Easy to find - owners' directions good. Cottage was clean, warm and more spacious than expected from the website photos. Didn't need to use the log burner even though weather was generally poor. Pleasant patio garden, could consider growing a climber on the 'sleeper' wall to add some colour? Comfortable bed; on-demand hot water most welcome; tiled floors easy to keep clean. Kitchen area - reasonably well equipped though couldn't find a cheese grater. Traffic noise from A38 less intrusive than expected given the proximity. Recommend Cromwell Arms in nearby Bovey Tracey, excellent food and atmosphere. We would stay again and have recommended Drum Cottage to friends.
