Spent a week here in Aug 2015. 3 adults and 3 children. Lovely cottage; one of three neighbouring the owners house. Very nice grounds surrounding the property. Swimming pool was great. Kids had a wonderful time. Lovely animals too, especially Ben the sheepdog. One of the highlights was going out on quad bikes with Phil the owner. Would happily recommend.

Really nice house and Finished to high standard . Was in a pretty location , wasn't greeted when we arrived , was told key was in door of house over phone, House wasn't child friendly, floors were very slippery, lots of sharp edges , pool and hot tub was dirty , went home day early was very disappointed with what we got for money spent

    Response from: administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; We aim to meet our visitors on arrival but there are times when this isn't possible in which case they would be greeted on our return. The barns have been converted to cottages using traditional materials including limestone floors in kitchen areas and solid oak flooring to the remainder. Traditionally one would wear slippers as opposed to socks on carpet flooring. Plasterwork finishes to all corners and reveals have been rounded to maintain the traditional effect as opposed to 90 degree reveals in new houses. The pool and hot tub are run on a salt system with automatic dosing and checked twice daily for bacteria and temperature control. The hot tub water is also changed weekly on change over day. The salt water chlorine can occasionally break down the pointing between the slabs to the lounge area around the pool resulting in a grit deposit being washed into the pool itself. The small area was easily repaired on change over day when the pool was not in use.

Lovely property, stairs a bit steep and slippery for anyone a bit unsure on their feet. Pool area great. TV and DVD player a bit dodgy sometimes. A welcome basket of basic food items for the arrival would have been really appreciated, such as bread, milk. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Lovely place and great scenery . We mostly had the small pool and gym to ourselves. Great hot tub .
